So I was in my car going to my parent's house today waiting in traffic behind a mustang on a hill. We were going up the hill. So I was sitting there and you know how standard cars tend to roll? Well this asshole in front of me decided to play a little game where she sees how close she can come to my car without hitting it. So the first time she does it I let it slide, then I beep my horn at the bitches that were now laughing at me. I'm in my brand new company car and I don't want anything to happen to it!! Today was not the day to do something like this to me for I have a raging case of pms. So you guessed it the bitch hit me. It was a very light tap but still. So I got out of the car and started screaming at her. Instead of her getting out of the car her friend does. I went right over to her and punched her right in the face. For some reason I have no fear of confrontation, although I should these days I'm lucky I didn't get shot. Anyway, she hit me in the jaw and I basically kicked her ass. All while people were beeping and trying to get around us. So the driver of the car, the one who caused the whole thing gets out and breaks us up. So I got back in my car and had to explain to my parents why I looked like I got run over by a truck. God did I feel ghetto today.

hahahha, wow! That's pretty G.
The other day my friends saw this guy in a nice Mercedes driving down the street and a gardener was hosing down a driveway. Well the gardener apparently hit the newly washed Mercedes with his hose. The asshole in the Mercedes turns around gets out of his car and screams that he just paid whatever it was to get his car washed and punched the gardener guy. Hahah, I guess the gardener was blasting Mercedes boy with the hose. They were fighting and water was spraying everywhere. God I wish I could've seen it with mine own eyes.

that's about what I would have done. I'm not the same mellow person I normally am if I'm driving. Especially when people provoke shit.
I've had the ultimate test done to me once. I was waiting in a lane for u-turns and I'm getting ready to make the u-turn. All of the sudden, a car comes from the far right lane and swings over and cuts me off.
I honked my horn at him and he got offended. We both made the u-turn and then he was on the right of me. My wife was in the passenger seat of the car and we had our windows rolled down. THAT MOTHERFUCKER GOT RIGHT NEXT TO US AND SPIT RIGHT ON MY WIFE.
I immediatly got in front of him and slammed on my brakes which caused him to stop. I got out of the car and walked towards him and my wife calmly wiped the spit off her and said, "don't worry, get in the car and lets go". Everytime I opened my mouth, she stopped me.
So yeah, I told him he's a lucky motherfucker and I got back in the car and drove off. God damn, I've never been so pissed in my life.

if you let some assholes like that just drive away because you "don't wanna do anything stupid" or whatever....you're just enabling.
maybe bashing them in the head with a bat isn't the best idea....going to jail won't do much good...

No silly. What you do is call the police with their license number and tell that the person is driving dangerously and erratically, and that they appear to possibly be intoxicated. Trust me, that will lead to a much more interesting conversation.

people think they're invulnerable in thier cars....
until you show them thier not.
it's amazing how someone's face can go from angry and aggressive to stark white when they see you get out of your car and walk toward them.

you'll feel alot better than if you just sit there and do nothing...and then feel like a schmuck afterwards. What if someone calls your bluff? Do you end up feeling like a bigger schmuck with a black eye or worse? Is this the two wrongs don't make a right cliche -- but three lefts do? Have you ever had someone flash a gun at your and/or shoot at you? How intimidating can you feel as you're hightailing out of there and dodging bullets?
I suggest you look at it as a "is it worth the effort" scenario. If you get your ass kicked, maimed, and/or killed trying to out a bully, what have you accomplished? Also, aren't you now just a bigger bully?
If you walk away and realize that life isn't always fair and sometimes the bad guys win the battle -- not the war? -- I submit that you'll be better able to deal with the realities of everyday life.

I can see where you're coming from...but I do not agree. I understand that situations can get dangerous which is why I always have my weapon as well. It is not fun to "hightail" it down the road "dodging bullets" but it is even less fun going over and over in your head about how you were dogged and put down yet again and stood there and did nothing. That is demoralizing to your self esteem and to your view of life. Life is dangerous...I spent my childhood running from the dangers of confrontation until I ended up hating myself and how I just "bowed down" to the enemy while everyone laughed. By the time I was in my early teens, I was a wreck. To live is to face danger...but I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees.
You say, what have you accomplished if you get your ass kicked? Plan properly and you usually won't. Even if you don't beat, there's no such thing as getting out of a fight without a scratch. That person will know that he or she has been had no matter if they do in the end win. They also will be less likely to pull shit like this in the future because they'll be thinking as you've said, "is it worth it?" When being an asshole has consequences and requires effort, they're going to think twice.
You said doesn't that make me the bigger bully? NO, it makes me the person who thinks enough of herself to take up for herself and refuse to be a victim any longer.
You said we should walk away and realize that life is not fair. A big reason that it isn't fair is because of the way people act towards each other--lying, cheating, road raging, murdering, threatening, beating etc. Life would be a lot more fair if we treated people the way we want to be treated. You say this will help us better deal with the realities of everyday life...well the reality of everyday life is that people are mannerless assholes and it is time for us to say we're not going to take it anymore. Is this the kind of life and world that you all want to leave for your children? Do you want your daughters not even able to walk down the street without being harassed like some two bit hooker? Do you want your son to be robbed and assaulted? Do you want your grandchildren to be afraid to be outside of their homes past 6:30 at night? It is time to stand and fight. Fighting doesn't always involve fists, it can be just telling the person how childish, foolish, and bad they look doing what it is they're doing. It can be getting their information from the back of the company truck as they drive off and getting them fired. It can mean many things but it is imperative that we do it. Let's take back our lives and our streets.
^perfect.

there's a difference between asserting yourself and letting someone else get the best of you.
I should get this tatooed backwards across my eyeballs so I can read all the fucking time.
I talk real good about smashing car windows with tire irons and so on and so forth. It's not just talk, though. I've done it. Many times. I've done alot of things on the spur of the moment that could have gotten me literally killed. By the grace of God, obviously, it didn't. I've always been one to act and then think (but only when I'm pissed). Blind rage and a brain that is out to lunch is a recipe for disaster. Many times I wound up doing my thinking in a holding cell.
I have been thinking about this alot during the past year or so. I am 35 and I get into more shit on the street that someone ten years younger than me. I will be the first to admit that I am too easily baited into shit. I mean it's so fucking easy. I've just always had a low tolerance for bullshit. Especially goofy assed, retarded bullshit like this broad playing with her car brakes as if it's a game. It's a fucking car you dumb bitch not a toy!!! People like that need to be cracked. And that is not optional. Some beatdowns are absolutely mandatory.
Even though I never do it, I am an advocate of thinking about what you are doing before you do it.

beth, i'm sorry... i didn't realise you were talking to cosmo in your post back there... i don't know hotwife's real name. i have to say i was a little surprised that you'd encourage smashing strangers in the face as a way of dealing with things!
and yeah, cosmo i agree btw. it wouldn't be advisable to take on a bunch of guys. driving away is the only thing to do.
violence breeds violence. ever thought of just using your brain and speech abilities? like, you know, words and reason?
honestly, how often does this EVER work with people who are purposely looking to start a fight? if they want a fight, they're probably not in any mood to be talked out of it. to them, that's like losing. the most nonviolent thing you can do is either run away or not react. you just have to hope they don't want a fight that much, and they get bored.
it works a bit differently here...
how does it work, then? if you can have the cops catch them in the act, that's one thing, but if you wait until afterwards, how can you prove it? unless they have a record of dangerous driving or something, i don't see how you can, it's just your word against theirs.
i don't condone violence mind you (although in the back of my mind, in the dark places, i'm hoping for a vigilante to show up, i can't really help that), but if someone's purposely being a prick on the road, what can you do but ignore it and hope they get bored? generally these people aren't terribly rational, i don't know that talking and compassion would do anything but get you laughed at. at best.

You sound like you've never been to court or jail. Lemme tell you something, sweetheart, shit happens whether you like it or not. People are gonna go out and steal and rob and rape and kill and pillage and plunder and beat the living shit out of each other in the streets. When you are a lawyer you have a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year window into this world. That shit is all you see. Non-stop.
Bef is not encouraging anyone to do shit. She doesn't have to. She knows it's gonna happen any fucking way. All she's saying is, "Hey, if you do this shit in Florida, fucking call me!"
Quit trippin.

This thread reminds for 3 certain instances in the past 2 years that me and Jenny got in a mild fight about (more like heated discussion).
why don't you all give me your opinions:
incident #1: Me, jenny and 2 of my male friends were at a Kanye West concert.
we got there early and were towards the front of the stage (this was a local college, RIT). well, when Kanye took the stage, this pack of black, deaf (yes, deaf) gangster mother fuckers bum-rushed and pushed in front of everyone to get in front of the speakers (so they could see kanye and feel the bass). they were complete assholes....telling everyone to move out of thier way, being aggressive shoving, laughing. there was about 7-8 men plus a bunch of chicks.
one of them, the biggest one, pushed right in front of jenny.
this guy was about 6'5, 250lbs....jenny is 5'2.
so she couldn't see shit.
i looked right at the guy and was like "dude...she can't see....you're tall, she
short...move"
i know he could read lips.
he just cast this "i will kick your fuckin ass" look.
i persisted.
he leaned in "i can't understand you...i'm deaf" and smirked.
fuckin asshole.
at this same time....my other 2 friends had proceeded to start a screaming match with 2 other dudes in that group...and they started charging my friends, but were held back....it got ugly.
at the end of the concert...when the lights came on...i told everyone to fuckin move...get to the doors...i didn't want to deal with these fuckers....
jenny was like "let's fuckin yell at em and shit"....
yeah, like she would have to deal with any of their physical abuse.
these dudes were fucking big, and there were more of them....we would have gotten fuckin beat down.
i kinda felt like a pussy afterwards for not being more aggressive...but what was i gonna do?
LOOKING BACK: eh...did the right thing by not trying to be physically tough with the tall dude...and by getting everyone out of the arena afterwards in hurry. we would have lost any confrontation...and badly.

incident #2:
me and jenny and a whole bunch of friends were at a local art festival.
tons of tents and stands on the sidewalks where people sell thier arts and crafts.
at one point..we all sat down on a spot on the sidewalk to rest...not realizing we were in front of some dude's stand.
a mega old dude...about 60-70.
well, he comes up and pokes jenny in the back slightly and says "hey excuse me...this is my stand" rather rudely.
jenny got pissed.
"jesus...sorry...you didn't have to poke me."
and kept bitchin at him while we all walked on.
i was like "calm down...he's probably wearing a diaper he's so old..."
and she got mad at me for not stickin up for her more and bitchin the old dude out.
LOOKING BACK: yeah...i should have bitched him out. Jenny was right. he was mad old...but he shouldn't have poked her...and jenny should feel supported by me in situations like that....not "on her own".
i regret not making the old dude shit himself.

honestly, how often does this EVER work with people who are purposely looking to start a fight? if they want a fight, they're probably not in any mood to be talked out of it. to them, that's like losing. the most nonviolent thing you can do is either run away or not react. you just have to hope they don't want a fight that much, and they get bored.
how does it work, then? if you can have the cops catch them in the act, that's one thing, but if you wait until afterwards, how can you prove it? unless they have a record of dangerous driving or something, i don't see how you can, it's just your word against theirs.
i don't condone violence mind you (although in the back of my mind, in the dark places, i'm hoping for a vigilante to show up, i can't really help that), but if someone's purposely being a prick on the road, what can you do but ignore it and hope they get bored? generally these people aren't terribly rational, i don't know that talking and compassion would do anything but get you laughed at. at best.
yeah, i was just talking about using words over violence, in general.
walking away is almost always the only thing to do with idiots who cannot be reasoned with.

Incident #3:
we were at a local club...me and jenny and some of her female friends.
while i was in the bathroom...an old friend of her ex walked up to her and jokingly grabbed her boob and leg and made some joke.
jenny knew the kid, but hated him....and rightly felt violated.
jenny's female friends slapped him and told the bouncer, who kicked him out.
when i got out of the bathroom..she told me...all upset and shit....
so i said "okey dokey", put my beer down and flew out of the club after him...with jenny and her friend running after me yelling "DON'T, HE'S NOT WORTH IT...HE'LL CALL THE COPS IF YOU TOUCH HIM...DON'T..."
but i ran out and saw him down the sidewalk...i ran up to him and starting yelling at him....
he's a small dude...my height...but alot skinnier. it wouldn't have taken much to tear his head off.
but he had a friend with, some black dude i never seen before...just staring at me.
i was yelling at the offender...telling him he was a fuckin dead man.
he turns white "it was joke...come on...sorry...it was a joke...."
jenny and her friend are like standing in front of me, pleading to just go inside...that the cops would arrest ME, not him....
that was true..
and i was also very unsure if i could take this kid AND his friend...i was by myself.
well...i kept bitching him out while he ran off and around the corner.
later....as we were walking to our car....we saw that black dude. he comes running up to us.
"oh shit...here we go. fuck it...." i thought.
but he stops dead....and in the most gayest of lisps i have ever heard, says
"i am sooooooo sorry about my friend.....he was an asshole...i had no idea what he had done until after you bitched at him....i just told him to fuck off and get his own ride home, sugar..."
great....this guy was a flaming homo who wouldn't have done shit.
LOOKING BACK: yeah...i should have drilled that guy into the the fucking wall.
he grabbed my girl in a sexual manner. friend or no friend....cops or no cops...i should have fucking drilled him and just dealt with the consequences.
i regret it.
since then jenny flip-flopped from wishing i HAD beaten his ass...to being gratefull that i didn't....

Sitch one: Fighting at concerts is inevitable. I think you did the right thing by not going into it and getting your friends out of there right away.
Sitch two: He's an old dude. Yeah, poking is rude, but its not that big a deal is it? He's old. Who cares.
Sitch three: I can't believe he grabbed her boob! He was obviously wasted but still. I don't condone getting into fights, they freak me out. Especially when they involve my sig other. I think yelling at him was good enough.
incident #1: it seems like you couldn't have done any better, they were being jerks, but they would probably have kicked your ass in a fight, which wouldn't have helped anyone at all.
#2: i'm not sure how aggressive this poke was, but it seems like getting mad at the guy would have been over-reacting, even if he was a little rude. maybe he was having a bad day. it seems reasonable enough to ask you to move though, seems like it would have been fine just to say "whoops, sorry" and move along.
#3: the guy was a prick, but it sounds like he felt appropriately bad about it afterwards. i don't think fighting would have helped anything. and it was nice of his friend to apologize.

Just so some of you know I haven't been in an actual physical 'fight' in probably 15 yrs. I'm normally very cool-headed in situations like this. I realize physical violence doesn't solve anything, is dangerous, and that I'm just as guilty as the girl who hit me is. She just caught me on the wrong day...and she actually HIT my car. And you know what, I'm glad I did it. It made me feel better. ahaha I kill me
now you can discuss how immature I am...

they pay you a visit and put the fear of god into you. i think you get sent a fine. then you can try and contest it.
qdrop: you and jenny sound like you have really short tempers. jenny sounds like she doesn't know what she wants as some situations she wants you to fight and other situations she doesn't. mental. what happens if you hit someone and they fall to the ground and they smash their head on the pavement and die? you'd go to jail for manslaughter. or you know, you could get hit and smash your head and get brain damage or anything.
there's too many things that can go wrong in a fight, and the only good thing that comes out of it is the feeling that you have asserted yourself and "taught someone a lesson".
fighting is not worth it imo.
i've heard of way too many situations of a bunch of guys having a good night out, some minor altercation, guy gets hit, goes down and dies. guy who hits him goes to jail. 2 lives ruined, over what? a spilt drink on his gf? a rude comment?

^I agree. Plus, any kind of fight you get into can get you into some legal matters. I'd have to check with Bef, but I'm almost positive you could call assault on someone who hits you and you don't hit back.
I don't think I'd ever ask a boyfriend to fight for me. The only situation I'd ask for help in the ass-kicking department was if it was totally necessary, like I was being dragged off to get raped in the woods or something. If it was just that I had been disrespected, fuck that. I'm a big girl and can stand up for myself. I'd like to have the guy stand behind me and back up what I'm saying, but I wouldn't want him to go and start shit.

venus, I think beth was just saying, with all the fighters on the board, move to Florida and help usher her to early retirement.
One of my goals has been to find the perfect thing to say in one of these situations, as opposed to thinking of it later.
For example: some guy coming towards me decided to turn left without signaling, forcing me to slam my brakes. As I inched through the intersection and forced him to wait a little longer, he had the nerve to honk and flip me off. As I passed his open window I said, "what, did you think I was psychic?" As he sat there pondering his never delivered retort, I drove off. I bet he thought of a comeback abou the time he arrived at his destination.
Qdrop's situations:
#1 - Did you forget your backpack?
#2 - I wonder if this guy has been fighting for 60 years.
#3 - You were afraid of a homo! Ha?!

In these situations, it's just better to take advice from the victim such as your girlfriend.
As well as my situation where that fucker spit on my wife. I was red and out of control but she handled it so smooth and cool and acted like it didn't even bother her. If she would have cried or even had a slight reaction of being pissed, I would have beaten the holy hell out of that shitbag.
Now that I look back on it, I still wish I would have stomped his ass but a domestic violence charge could easily get me fired from my job and I'd surely never be able to obtain a job in my preferred career of choice.
Yeah, be thankfull your girlfriend was trying to stop you.

Where I came up, you do what you have to do. "Golly gee Wally, let's talk it out" is not going to work when you're dealing with stupid violent hoodchildren with an IQ of 1. Fighting helped me survive and it does the same thing with others at certain times. Your comment smacks of someone who's never been out of Beverly Hills. Don't paint all people who do what they have to do with the same brush.
Where you came up I can't imagine physical fighting with stupid violent hoodchildren with an IQ of 1 really worked either. I'm sure there are varying degrees of "having" to fight. Most of which can be done without in my little opinion. Stupid assholes who wanna fight are all over the world and will always be all over the world no matter how many of them you personally take on.
The fact that I used the word "nin-kom-poop" with my um brush, I assumed, would be taken as tongue in cheek as that ridiculous term sounds. Guess not. Did I even spell it right?
Oh and for the record Beverly Hills can eat a dick for all I care.

Well, did you grow up that life is so clean, cut and dry? I would love to know.
A town of 3000 people in the middle of the woods.
I've lived for many years now in an area of LA that isn't the roughest, but it's by no means full of "Gee Beave's" and definately not Beverly Hills (for which I have a distaste and that comment just struck a chord that's all).
Why would you love to know? So you can further judge me or what? I'm done with this thread... it's too full of bitterness for me. Blech. You can have it.
Oh and Faith! (y) Glad to see you're open to hugz!
