i was watching i fucking shot that and just remembered that piece of info. i still remember what it looked like and what it felt like to have the internet for the first time and be able to access music that way. i felt closer to the beasties, i felt connected for real! i remember those blue/purpleish grand royal circles on rotation on the home page...damn, i was fucking laughing all over the place when i thought about it! lookin like this :eek: after...lolx damn. I was thinking about my extensive history with the Beasties (i'm 21 next month, but the history is 12 years deep...

I remember they were handing out some disk at the IC Quadrophonic show that would allow you to connect.

I think my connection speed was 2400 bps...I think this was in 94ish.

The internet was around in 94 ?????? Woah. I remember in prob 95 had a computer with Windows 95, but didnt think the internet had started.

I know you're not going to believe me, but grandroyal.com was the first website I ever visited online, too.

My brother set up my browser for me and went, "You can search for all sorts of stuff you like now! Try 'Beastie Boys'!" In retrospect, I would picked a more Beastie-ish name than "chechina".

It was the first website I ever went to too. In fact, if I remember right it was originally DOS based. There was some crazy-long fucked up site address that came with the Root Down EP. Then when they toured that summer they were pimping the website as well. I remember talking to my nerd friend at work to download the pictures of the albums because you had to do all this crazy shit just to view a picture. Not only that but it took like 20 minutes to download. Back then there was just no internet info so you could use the website to see what kinds of albums and promos and b-sides they released. They had pictures of the Free Shitty EP and the Frozen Metal Head EP. Bangin.
