the book itself is all about a host of questions...the title being only one...

but is the question "why do men fall asleep after sex" really an actual question that women ask? enough to make it the title of your book?

I've heard his question/comment batted around forever by women...it's become a common cultural "annoyance" with them.

but is it really that baffling?
do women really wonder why, after pumping you for an hour- at night, the man falls asleep after sex?
isn't that like wondering why it gets "dark" when you close your eyes?

he's tired, physically exhausted...and it's night time....and he's in bed.

Because sometimes I'll be the one expending [nearly] every bit of energy (he expends some at the very, very end :)) and it'll be in broad daylight and we'll be on a floor or some other non-bed-like, non-sleep-inducing surface and that sleepiness still often happens for him and the talkiness for me. Not always, but close to it. Current guy in my life is not so much prone to that sleepiness thing, not immediately, that is. He's a cuddler :p but he'll still nod off after several minutes even though he had relatively little energy expenditure. And nearly every other guy: out within maybe 5 minutes even despite noble efforts otherwise.

Sometimes I tried to stare them awake. But it doesn't work. I just have to let them get a maybe 10-minute recharge and then they're wide awake again.

When I haven't been talkative after sex is when I haven't felt a terribly great connection with the guy--either during that particular session or with him in general. There's a cause/effect with that and intimacy for women and maybe there's cause/effect with why most guys go into a sort of sexual hibernation after their orgasm. The body works in interesting ways.

I don't mind that they fall asleep, they can't help that, their brain makes this stuff after orgasm that makes em woozy, but what I do mind is that it's always over too quickly. Ladies first, you know.

The way I understand it, men have natural amphetamines in their sperm. Have you ever noticed how dudes get really wired and hyper the longer they go between sex? The edginess and nervous pacing is induced by too much amphetamine build up. It's like one benny criss cross per day.
