I was thinking last night about when I was about 12 or 13 I spent my entire summer making a role-playing game. It was loosely based on the movies "Total Recall" and "Terminator 2".

It was very intricate. I had statistics tables, equipment charts, race and class profiles, everything. Even nice Naplolean Dynamite style drawings. It ended up being like 120 pages of graph paper. An opus in its age.

All summer my dad kept pestering me...
"Go outside! Play some basketball or something"
"Nah dad! I need to finish the profile on this gun, get off my ass!"
"Don't curse, you'll be sorry!"

everything in me and joe's life is pretty much nerd based. but he is 100 nerdier than me. he goes to LANs, collects warhammer figurines and buys gamer mags. i play rpgs like a motherfucker, and practically live on the internet.

that's hot shit. If you weren't already hooked up I'd fix you up with my friend. He's the goddamn crown-prince of transformers.

as for me, I too collect robots. I don't front. I build gundams, use little needle files and shit. I've got a fucking embarrasing amount of Robotech shit.

yup, by hand...using the zoom tool and lasso tool, each line was cleaned up pixel by pixel...blarg!!!!

I have yet to learn how to vector in Illustrator, if it's even possible

yes, it takes a while, but once you know how it's worth it. i've practiced it a lot, so i'm quite adept at it, and can do really complicated things.

One summer when I was like in 3rd grade my cousins and I would find all sorts of bugs when we were outside playing. I used to make them go with me to the library to identify the ones we came accross that I thought were interesting. What a geek.

As an adult I still buy a lot of action figures and super hero merchandise.

i spent an entire summer at the library reading all the books in my school's summer reading list. i was entering 7th grade and i read all the books from 7th to 12th grade. it made me an incredibly well-versed 7th grader.

then i discovered boys. :(

The nerdliest thing ever done to me and it happened just a couple of months ago: someone pointed out three small moles, all in close proximity on my body and then and he put a pinkie on the first one, his thumb on the second one, and an index finger on the third one and said control-alt-del.

I would have to say using the word LOL on a daily basis. Recently added "leet" to my vocabulary.

Then there's the thousand of hours I've spend writing programs, but that's not nerdy at all.

Hello, I work in a science museum. I am a professional nerd. In my spare time, besides talking to a bunch of internet dorks, I like to watch shows like How It's Made and Megastructures on Discovery channel.

I have a poster of Wolverine in my bedroom. I own Star Wars action figures and legos. I have the remote control battlebots. My bathroom is decorated in Winnie the Pooh and friends. I carry a Winnie the Pooh lunch box to work. I took time off from work to play video games. I frequently quote lines from Star Wars in real life conversations. I have drawn up designs to build a net gun. I have a collection of robot puppies. I met my boyfriend on this message board.

I played D&D with a few kids from high-school. I didn't know how to play, nor could I understand it, but they tried showing me the ropes. I dunno... I found it all too "ghey" (despite watching anime), so I made myself an elf who spoke Ebonics. The D&D master-leader and his wife did not like this, and I was never asked to play again. But their kid (who was a toddler) was obsessed with me, so they'd insist I come over anyway. He just liked to grab at my tits a lot.

I still watch SOME anime and listen to J-POP/ROCK music, so, I guess that's nerdy enough.
