the only downside to this record is that J Dilla was a pretty terrible MC. Not like "oh hes not very good" like he was bordering on awful.

Either way I could give a shit about lyrics, I care about beats.

I'd diasgree, he wasn't a rakim or anything but his flow worked over his beats and he ripped it on fuck the police

Check out Charizma on the Stone's Throw label. He was one of the first, if not the first, release on the label. He has long been deceased, but some odd years ago, Peanut Butter Wolf released previously unreleased Charizma material dated back in the early 1990s. The album is called Big Shots. Granted, Charizma's MC skills, at the time, were still rusty and on a beginner level, but he certainly had the positive personality, and, as his name implies, the charizma. Had he lived on, he would have been a formidable MC today.

give a few weeks and you'll cringe everytime you hear that "YA'LL NIGGAS LIKE WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?" line.

The Red is such a hot beat, but the rapping on it is soooo bad.
