After working on the radio for about 13 years, I finally fulfilled a dream: interviewing one of the Beastie Boys. I got word late yesterday afternoon that Mr. Adam Yauch would be joining us on this morning's program. I think it went quite well, even through Adam's early-morning haze. It's up on our station's website in two parts (he was gracious enough to give us about twenty minutes), and I hope you enjoy it. Here's a link:

That's so cool, great interview! I think you probably made him blush tellin him how much he means to you and fans. I don't think he realizes how fuckin great he is. :D But that was the best interview I heard in a while because of the questions and stuff, thank you.

Thanks so much for the kind words; I sincerely appreciate it. It was one of the few times on the radio that I did an interview with the fans of the artist in mind. The three interviews I'm most proud of that we've done on our show are definitely Yauch, Henry Rollins, and Kevin Smith. They're all up on our website along with the guy who wrote "Skills to Pay the Bills", Alan Light. Peace.

That interview is damn good! It may have been early in the morning but the spirit of the Yauch was definitely out of its bottle. Nice one

nice interview.

I agree with you drew about "pass the mic" being a song that represents what the beastie boys are about. You can't go wrong with that song!

It was cool that Yauch thinks of us as "the greatest" fans in the world(y)
