I don't have a list to cut and paste from. I don't keep a list.

But I'm interested in the categories. Does myspace make the categories or do the myspace users make their own? I try to come up with meaningful genres for my ipod because I suck at making playlists and I can at least listen by genre. "Alternative" was a useless category because I had 4000 songs in there.

On MySpace you can list band names any way you wish, by category/genre/alphabetical/whatever.

As I've said before, my list on MySpace is too huge to even list and I only have it alphabetically (no separations between genres), but I don't think I could separate them by categories since they are so interchangeable.

Looking at your list, how do you separate what is "Underground" and what is "Alternative" exactly? I could easily switch up all those bands you listed and could make a viable case why they are "Alternative" and why another is "Underground." Same thing with your "Hard Rock" and "Metal" categories. Again, those are interchangeable (in fact, Soundgarden could conceivably fall under metal or alternative or underground or hard rock even  )

So yeah, that's why I just list 'em and let YOU decide what they fall under.

You mean all the bands or the bands on your friends list?
I don't have time to write down, or even copy, all the bands I like...

I am into no one band or group of bands currently. Some good music is coming out that I enjoy, but alot of it is derivative. I like DJ's and remixes as of the past year...such as the maniac who is Girltalk in my sig below...he has 30 songs at times mixed into one 3 minute tune and it sounds right.

I like angry old hippies, best song of the year so far is Neil Youngs "Let's Impeach the President" youth needs to grow some BALLS.

The ones under "underground" have cooler names. Thats how i decide.

Oh.
Well I've got a list there, copied from my record collection (so there's loads missing cause I don't have records from everyone), but that's just a small part. If I listed all of them nobody would even bother to go through the list....
