a family friend just committed suicide

bloody hell. whats with all the people around committing suicide lately? thats 3 in a month. i knew 2 of them, and i was a friend of a friend of the 3rd. just yesterday, i got a phone call from my mother, telling me that a girl (named katherine) i have known since i was born, we sorta grew up together and our families were very close, killed herself by eating 75 paracetemol tablets. what a horrible fucking way to die. she was 23. she left behind a 6 yr old daughter, and a 2 yr old daughter. my mother and katherine's mother who are best friends had the grim task of telling young taneeshka that her mummy had died. how bloody awful. :( katherine had 2 sisters, one younger and one older. the younger sister is beside herself as katherine and her had not been talking for 3 months. katherine left behind a journal. so it seems this had been planned for a while.

first of all, how selfish an act was it? not only ending your own life, but many around you. leaving your kids without a mother. katherine's mother, chris, has had a very hard life. struggled all the way with many setbacks and tragedies. i only hope that this doesnt trigger more suicides within the family, its very possible.

and second of all, if your going to end it all, why OD on paracetemol?? it would have to be one of the worse ways to die. very slow and painful.

the annoying and terrible part is that the person who kills himself actually thought it was the best way to do things in his messed up mind.

Children should be a beacon of hope for someone in pain, I couldn't imagine leaving my kids behind in such a way.
