It's true. It makes me uneasy and agitated when I listen to it. I can't believe I used to drive around in my car and whump the horseshit out of big speakers and dance to it at parties. It's embarrasing.

It's a fact, when you start to get old (around 25-35) you instantly stop liking drum n bass.

this thread, in conjunction with your other thread = you sounding old all of a sudden. it's no big thang -- i'm still older than you. it's just that you're making me feel old.
i don't think that^ makes anything better, does it?

what's funny is that so many of us don't really like the Beastieboys anymore yet we still post on this board.

the beastie boys are like sesame street. you never admit to watching past 6 years old but you stop and watch if you catch it early in the morning and feel all nostalgic.

i know exactly what you're saying skra. i used to be into it in a big way too but now all I can really take is the old school mellow stuff like bukem, and even then only occasionally.

I couldn't imagine actually listening to drum and bass by choice at home, but it's so popular here that when you go out it's hard to get away from. I can handle some of it, but really, the vast majority of it is utterly generic.

(y) my problem with it exactly.

agreed, the evolution of tech-step into everything dnb is a bit disappointing
people have forgotten about intelligent, it's always hard with the "rawr rawr rawr"

LMAO this is what my brother and I were doing the whole night to each other in boston. we probably looked retarded to everyone else, but it was still funny as shit.
WUA-WUAHHHHH-WUA-WUA-WUA
Fuck yeah, it's all gone downhill. 2004 was probably the best year for the genre. But with all of it's offshoots like techstep and darkstep and all of that shit it's kind of pointless to keep up. It's gotten so boring I don't even want to fast forward to the break anymore. I'm only interested in Hive and Vex'd these days.

i'm no massive dNb fan by any means, i like bits here and there

It's only redeeming feature is the involuntary sillyness of the people who still take it seriously. Just say "All that shit sounds the same" to one of 'em and enjoy their incoherent ramblings...
i never go to the clubs anymore, because the crowds are really juvenille, however what's coming out of england is still stellar, ie liquid funk, dub rock et al. and people stopped complaining about tech step and darkside in '99, when the amount of genres of dnb really expanded.

I'm starting to wonder, is it that I'm getting too old for it...or has it sucked all along and I just never realized it? I'm thinking it's the second.

The 1st and the 2nd go hand in hand... when you get old you think young people's music is shit. That's why most parents hate hip-hop. Don't tell me you've grown out of hip-hop too?

??? nah.
actually those who know me or at least know the person who posts horseshit on this board know I've always been a penis about music and I'm very quick to dismiss things as shite. new music or otherwise.
