The Nina Simone thread prompted me on this as Sinnerman is featured on The Thomas Crown Affair soundtrack.

Other favorites are the soundtracks for The Royal Tenenbaums, Vanilla Sky, O brother where art thou, Lost in Translation, Pump up the Volume :p and Secretary. I love the music for The Piano and my inner geek is proud to say I also own the boxset of the Lord of The Rings music....

*smacks own head for being stupid*

I'm going to listen to Tiny Dancer very loudly now.

(and I did search to see if this thread had been done before but it was a while ago. Apologies if I am rehashing old stuff. Rookie mistake!!)

I think I said it elsewhere, but... I wish the Goodfellas soundtrack that was released had more or all of the songs from the movie, because it's pretty fucking truncated. (n)

Purple Rain!

I dig:

Amelie
Dancer in the Dark
Forest Gump
Platoon
Four Rooms
Original Star Wars trilogy
Crouching Tiger/Hidden Dragon
Resevoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction

I'm not HUGE on soundtracks, but dig the music from these movies

the spawn soundtrack. It used to be my favorite and it had a Morphine mix with somebody but they took it off for some reason. That was like the best song on there.

Other than that, Mansun & 808 state, Soul Coughing & Roni Size, Metallica & DJ Spooky, Henry Rollins & Goldie are also on there.

Nobody has mentioned Judgement night yet?

Oh brother where art thou? was great too. "I'm a man of constant sorrow" gives me goosebumps.

Cheesy as it might be, Dirty Dancing has some classics. Be My Baby by The Ronettes and Cry to Me by Solomon Burke
