I sure do love weddings. I just attended one on Saturday and it had all the elements that a good wedding should...one of the groom's uncles was taken away by ambulance due to chest pains, someone got arrested, oh and can't forget about the groom's sister in-law who got drunk, was hitting on the bride's brother, and puked all over the bus that took us to the after-party. Gotta love that open bar. It was a lovely affair. Now I'd like to hear some of your wedding stories, if you will...

I was banned from going to my friend's lesbian mother's wedding recently because she thought I would smoke weed there and drink all the alcohol.

True story.

The first one I don't remember because I was so young.
The second one I don't want to remember because it was so boring.

Yeah but it also wouldn't be a wedding without lesbians so I guess the normal rules don't apply to this one.

Im sick and tired of standing up at weddings. I was a flower girl twice, in two years, and then I was a bridesmaid a couple of times. Im so sick and tired of standing up to them! Im trying to move onto godmother, but it doesnt seem to be working.

I may have posted about it. Not sure.

The actual wedding sucked. It was in China and I signed some paperwork and so did she and bam, we were married.

In March of this year though, we had a huge traditional Chinese Wedding party. Kinda like getting remarried. Her whole familly was there.

We had a host, 50 huge tables for the guests with some of the finest Chinese food ever imaginable.

I had to walk to the guests and my wife was with me and she had to introduce them do me and afterwards, I had to give them a cigarette (tradition) and light them with these flimsy matches.

They all tried to mess with me while lighting the cigarettes too. Giving me shots, one guy made me take a bite of a chicken head and there was some of them that decided to challenge me to try to feed my wife a peanut with chopsticks. I did it so swiftly and easily and they were suprised that a westerner could do that.

All in all, it was excellent(y)

(lb) i bought a karate kid action figure from back in the day off ebay once, and one of the accessories was an (oversized) pair of chopsticks, with a fly hanging from it! the other was those blocks of wood or whatever that daniel can chop through. it was awesome!

so, yeah, weddings. i'm going to my first one in two years on friday. only the evening reception though, it's for a girl i used to work with. the best thing about them, at least in this country, is the ceilidh dancing! omgoodness i love traditional scottish dancing! it is so fun, and anyone can do it. strip the willow is my favouritest cos you get to dance with all teh boys. uh-huh!

My tip for any fellas looking to hook up with a lady at the wedding. Right after dinner before people really start dancing or anything grab the mom of the bride or groom or some grandma and take them on the dance floor. Proceed to boogie on down like you've never boogied before. All the ladies there will think it's the cutest thing ever and will be fighting for your attention the rest of the night. I do this at every wedding and it never fails!

I got laid the last time I attended a wedding....
I knew right away when he sat at the same table at the reception (at the pizzeria where the couple had had their first date) that I wanted to do him. The night was long and we partied 'till the early morn', but in the end, with a little help from my friends, he came along to the place where I was staying.... It has been awhile now tho...

I've been to quite a few weddings (funnily three of my friends' have decided to get married after being together for 19 years), my cousin's (about 10 years ago) being the most traditional and actually most fun.

I'm trying to figure where I got my catches flies with chopsticks quote from. Was it the Karate Kid? Not sure if it's that or Revenge of the Nerds.

defo the karate kid (http://www.exclaim.ca/images/karate_kid.jpg). i promise. (after all, isn't it a bit random to package a pair of chopsticks complete with plastic fly if it didn't feature?) i've seen those movies about 5 billion times. i think it's when daniel first meets mr. miyagi.
