does it seem that an especially high number of people are experiencing life problems right now? or has it always been that way?

Life problems. Sigh.

I am due for some drunken debauchery right about now

We should hit the bars together and let alcohol take care of it all.

this is what I'm sayin, dog.

It's a perfect antidote, been helping me get away from myself for awhile now.

well the first step is admitting you have a problem. . .

I spent the last six or seven months having some lousy life issues that made me feel down and stressed and which I kept wishing would go away. And eventually, they did. Now I'm back in control and back on top of things, and I've felt a lot better in the last few weeks. Even in the last few days.

It ebbs and it flows, mang. Keep on keepin on.

I'm overly-agitated lately because of office politics and the fact that they could drop the boom on everyone in here tomorrow, next week, September...whatever.

Being stuck in an unfulfilling and stressful job is definately doing this to me. At the risk of sounding like a self-centered grunting alpha male; i'm surrounded by 20 or 30 of some of the biggest nerds i've ever known in my life. Here's some of the more recent chatter i've been exposed to. This is just scratching the surface :

fat-dude-who-wears-a-fedora 'so did you see those buffy episodes i sent you?'

skinny-guy-with-the-Rufus-Wainright-tshirt 'yeah man, Xander was UNBELIEVABLE'

he damn near yelled 'UNBELIEVABLE' which pissed me off because we're in a call center...forget the fact they're 30 years old and chatting about Buffy the vampire slayer...

fat-dude-who-wears-a-fedora 'I found Buffy looked a little burnt out towards the end of the first scene in the 3rd episode I FTPed to you'

skinny-guy-with-the-Rufus-Wainright-tshirt 'yeah, I have to agree with you Barry. Looks like she stumbled a bit on that second high-kick'

And so on and so on.

I saw my kid's face on an ultrasound today. He has a strong heartbeat and big feet. Now, he just needs to make his way into the world. If he is like his Pops he probably wants to stay in his comfort zone and not deal with the real world. He will probably be a little late and get some extra sleep.

Life is good.

Yep. And for some odd reason when I'm stressed it's like my body produces Spanish Fly 24/7. So that kind of adds to everything. Liquor only seems to help when it's actually in my hand. Once it leaves things start to change.

Thankfully I will not be around goats this weekend. :o

Oh, I agree with that, wholeheartedly. It's just hard to be on top if it, or trying to stay happy on some days when shit piles on. Believe me, I know things can be a lot worse for a lot of us.

I still stand by the fact that it was your idea, Mr. Patron.

My only life problem is dealing with my depressive friends. And trying to import Brett next week to visit. Oh, and looking into a permanent move for one of us down the line, if it comes to that next year. Stupid homeland security. They say they have "open, secure borders" which is crap. You have to be sponsored by an employer or a family member who is a citizen in order to have an extended stay in the US.

life's somewhat taking a dump on me lately. I'm going to try a different route and not drink my problems away.

Actually, I'm not really having life problems. I'm just missing people and if I try to drink it away, it makes me seem like I think about them even more and it gets me depressed.

You need to become "funny drunk" or "angry drunk" then instead.

it used to be like that when I was 20-29 but it's changed. Being away from home and missing people, loss of friend, blah blah.. Sorrow overcomes laughter when I drink.

I'm alot funnier when sober.

Right now it feels like I'm having the best time ever. The last couple of winter's unemployment and depressions have gone, gotta good job until the end of 2007, my own business growing up on the side, wonderful summer when everything grows in my garden, there's loads of good gigs coming up and it looks like there's somebody who likes me....

I got shit on again but hey. The more piles on, the more likely it will soon be over or something and things will in improve.
