it boggles my mind how they dont know who or what the carrier state is. how can they not be doing everything to find that? once you find that and you attempt to reconstruct its genetic abilities to fight off or be unaffected by the virus, then you have a much better chance of find a vaccine or something to that effect. maybe.

my dad thinks ebola was engineered by the germans or the americans. he thinks aids was too.

the bubonic plague is my personal favourite medieval disease. nuttin like a bit of black death!

i had scarlet fever when i was young! that's pretty impressive, right?

re: researching bad ways of dying - radiation poisoning is mine. god. i can't imagine anything more horrific and am totally consumed by documentaries on chernobyl and the like.

Have you red Mask of the Red Death by EA Poe? If not, do so...you'll love it.

Wasn't that about TB/'consumption' though?

it was about the plague, and how all these wealthy people thought they could excape it by shacking up in this mansion...well, long story short you can't escape death. But the way Poe describes all the rooms...is just brilliant.

I think shingles is just chicken herpes flaring up.

oh i like the black plague too. that's a dirty little booger. and i met a woman who lived near chernobyl. she was told that she wouldnt be able to have children, but she had one. unfortunately, her daughter is severely fucked up, like born with one ovary, and other really fucked up shit. this woman though, she goes through like.. detox periods, where she tries to cleanse her body of chemicals. she says it "keeps her alive and keeps the cancer at bay." she's had several tumors removed already.

ick.

i was exposed to tb as a child, and for the rest of my life i will test positive on those ppd tests. i have to get chest xrays every 2 years or some other stupid shit like that.

Ack. Man, tuberculosis sounds like one of the ways I would least like to die.
