I know there are lots of AIFST threads but none seemed the right place for my comments. Maybe this thread can be a home to AIFST miscellany.
It's the wee hours and I'm at my mom's (having buried my dad's ashes earlier this week) and watching the post-halftime part of AIFST. Mom made it just past MMM's interlude before calling it a night (she wants to see the rest in the morning, especially hubby's and my appearance in the grid at the end of the credits). I had to check it out here with my dad's hi-fi setup..
I just noticed, having seen the film a couple times before, how the bass makes the cameras (operators) shake during Paul Revere. That is great.
And hardly the first highlight from the DVD. I won't go into them all just now. I will just send a big thank you to the band and the fans for making this wonderful memento of a great night.
Sending out much love to all.

p.s. the news about the new album is quite exciting!

Glad to hear you're enjoying it, but I think that that bass during Paul Revere was an effect added in. I could be wrong, though.

hmm... Yauch? :)
I was actually one of those "Oh... photoshop filters" people... heh
How would such an effect be added? If Yauch doesn't respond I'll ask my filmmaking peeps.

I think it's standard in iMovie. (They used FinalCut.) If not standard then it's available as a third-party effect. I use it, but don't remember if it came with iMovie or not.

Put that :o face away in a box within a box somewhere and don't think about it again. I'm always the fool with the Beasties. One way or another, they get me to believe something that isn't true. Maybe that should be their legacy -- compulsive, convincing liars. They'll rip your mind out and they'll burn your soul.

This is one of my favorite parts, so I'm going to just keep believing it was real and not an effect done after the fact.

does the dvd have the intros/shoutouts to every concert from the north american tour?

^^^Not every one.
A theme that strikes me is the young girl and her (I'm gonna say) older sister during Hello Brooklyn, where the older girl is singing along, and the younger girl is into it but doesn't know the lyrics. Then during Open Letter they both sing along. It's like two generations of fans bought together right there.

Montreal?
what is it you are looking for, harris? i saw you at imdb asking the same question...
speaking of imdb, this is kind of funny...
http://imdb.com/name/nm2341594/
it appears someone listed themselves as an attendee of the concert ...
Christopher Sherman, attendee #54, aka "Sherms"

all i know is that i have a clip i got from the hub taken by someone who snuck in a video camera, and the clip is during paul revere, right at the starting of it, and when the bass kicks in it makes the camcorder vibrate in the exact same way, which is why i'm sort of tentative to believe it's an effect
