i need help!

so recently my only day off of work has been tuesday so i made plans to do something with somebody on tuesday. than today i found out im supposed to work on tuesday (and every other day of the week!)
so i have decided that i'm not gonna work on tuesday, and tomorrow im going to tell my manager that i cant. but i need a good excuse that will work. i was thinking about saying that i have to register for school. i need some good ideas from you people!
