I'm sorry, but.... no books!? I can understand no laptops, no this, no that.... but no books!? How's a person supposed to survive a flight of any serious length if all you have is the airline's reading material?
where did you see this?
I just went to the TSA website and they didn't mention anything about books. they even said laptops are permitted.
unless i missed the joke...

In two newspaper articles. One said "books," one said "paperbacks."
Maybe that's just U.K., though.

Ah:
With the reduction in the threat level, Britain's Department of Transport said passengers would be allowed to carry a single, briefcase-sized bag aboard aircraft, and that books, laptop computers and iPods would be permitted again. However, Heathrow and other major airports said they would not adopt the relaxed regulations until Tuesday.
Never mind. :o

That's good. Because I'm pretty sure Brett would cancel his flight if he couldn't bring his Ipod.

So I'll be able to bring diapers then. Whew, that's a relief - wasn't sure how I was supposed to manage a 7 hour flight to Chicago without a change for Little Miss Poopypants...

I thought parents with kids under a certain age had more leeway: like, they could bring formula if they were willing to drink some at security, etc.
But I think I'm getting US and UK rules mixed up.

My mom lives in Michigan. The baby and I will be staying with her for a couple of months to help out while she has her chemo.

Left, of course - I'm right handed:)
haven't you seen the matrix? you can carve out the pages of a book and hide things in it. maybe even liquids!
seriously though, i don't think i'd survive a flight without a book to read. not that i fly often.

I took a mini manicure set in my luggage. Not my carry on, my actual luggage, and they went into my luggage and confiscated it. What the hell am I gonna do? Sneak into the belly of the plain so I can hold everyone up with a nail clipper?
And books? thats ridiculous. What are you going to do? give everyone paper cuts?

Haven't you seen that one Simpsons where Homer was in jail, and picks up a book entitled "How to Escape from Prison" and uses it to hit the prison library guy and run off with his cart? Think about it.

Meh.. not enough to blow myself up for. Unless of course it was like how Randy Quaid did in Independance day, and even then i'd consider turning back...
So I dont suppose im any threat.
