I think it's used to dig out quarries and things like that.

Werd, they're used to dig out quarries, stuff like that. In transit this one moved a third of a mile a day. Those aren't blades at the end, they're not even sharp, there's dozens of buckets on the edges (which you could stand up in by the way and still not be able to see out of - you could fit a car in one of them), which empty onto conveyers and are dumped at the far right end, or the back of the thing. No idea which model this is, i'd like to say it was called the MOBILE HOME OF DEATH but it'll probably have a gay name like X1000516G or something.

Place i did work experience at also does spares for these things, so i got to see one of the blades in the fabrication shop. It had the diameter of a small planet yo!

You could also drive a double decker bus between the tracks and still not be able to touch the bottom of it.
