View Full Version : My one friend completely misses the point

To everything. For example:

"Aww, man! It's gonna be raining all next week when I wanted to take Brett downtown."
"It happens, he'll be okay."

It's like, uhhh, yeah. He's not going to die, if that's what you mean. I actually knew that beforehand, you didn't need to point that out. The point was, rain sucks, especially when you're gonna be doing stuff outside.

It's so, so easy to be sarcastic to her too. But she usually gets bitchy if you point out that what she said was irrelevant to the point you were making.

Hahaha well-spotted. (y)

What do you want us to say to this thread? What kind of replies are you expecting?

Advice? Tell her to go and sit on a cucumber.

Go ahead and complain about your dumb friends who say stupid things. Most of my threads are just for people to chime in. (y)

There is one of my friends... whenever he scores a goal on Pro Evo (computer football game) he says something really gay like "BOSH! AND THE DIRT IS GONE!" or "YES! *stupid hand movement and spin around in chair*". Man he's a wanker.

she's like, Amelia Badelia. You should start calling her that, she won't know why anyway.

correct me if I'm wrong but, didn't Droppin' make a post about how romantic it was while kissing in the rain? Oh wait, didn't he make a whole thread
about it?

Is that why Queenie is envious of the rain now? Damn, I scare myself. I think he wrote that thread like two years ago but I remember it.

QueenAdrock

Ha, he did write a whole thread about it. But my point is, I hate the rain. Within that thread, I specifically said kissing in the rain totally sucks because we have acid rain around here.

Nothing good can come of rain in DC. Except flowers and grass, and you know, fuck that. I want nice weather.

It seems like you would be difficult to be friends with if that innocent reply set you off. Is this the friend who's already bugging you?

QueenAdrock

The one and only. And it's just not one or two comments, it's like 60% of the stuff she says in response. She also loves to put words in your mouth when you're searching for what to say, which also have absolutely no relevance and make you stop dead in your tracks and just look at her like "what the hell is running through your mind?"

I probably wouldn't get as annoyed with her if I didn't see her practically every damn day.

It does sound like you need a break from her. Even a really good old friend can get on your nerves and it's good to get some space.

Did she like you better when you were super depressed? You don't have to answer my questions. It's just that there was a time when I was in a bad relationship and had a lot of drama and the friend that I was closest to then started acting funny once I came out of my funk. The happier I got, the more depressed she got -- like she had enjoyed us being miserable together.

On the other hand, it's tough to cast off a friend who was there for you at rock bottom.

Hey I did some digging and I found a message board that your friends posts on and this is what she had to say…

“Okay so I’m hanging out with my friend today and she’s rambling on and on again about the stupidest shit you can imagine. I swear half the time I’m not even paying attention, so she makes some stupid comment about the weather and I’m I said something and she get’s a total attitude with me. I hate when she gets all bitchy like that. I mean at first this whole friends with benefits thing she and I had going seemed like a great idea but now we fight like we’re in a relationship. If only she wasn’t so good at going down on me…”

Yeah, pretty much. Except I don't ever have an attitude with her, I bottle things up and never tell her anything I'm thinking. We don't fight. I'm one of only a few friends that she calls and hangs out with, so I'm never mean to her. She just gets to me sometimes...especially when she lashes out at me, and I just take it because I don't want to make her more depressed than she already is. (n)

And Documad - she wasn't happier or anything when I was super-depressed...she seemed more sympathetic but I don't know because I didn't focus on anything but the breakup at that time. I don't really remember how my friends reacted, what they said to try to cheer me up, because my thoughts were running so fast I couldn't really pay attention to much else. However, when I met Brett and started dating him, she did give me the whole "That's SO great. I'm glad you found someone who's willing to commit," in a pretty bitter tone...I think something's up with the guy she's kinda-dating, but I don't want to bring it up first.

Sigh.

Did you know that bamboo makes up 99% of a panda's diet?

Sorry, I was drinkin' a Snapple when I was reading this. Just thought I'd share some Snapple facts.

Well, that sounds like a Zorra fact and not a Snapple fact. Therefore, I refuse to believe.

What's the highest record anyway?
