Yeah, I'm gonna be like Rodney Dangerfield being an old fart and going to school but, I've only got 5 years till my Montgomery G.I. bill expires.

After long thinking about what direction I want to use it on, I've decided to go to a music school.

Can anybody give me advice or guidelines? I'm thinking classic rock or jazz.

Like, no way man.

*burns guitar and plays flag*

Shit, I did something wrong.

Actually, I'm just looking for advice in what colleges can offer in songwriting, composing and classic guitar. Berklee offers all of it and I'm in the process of applying.

Berklee and Juliard are good choices.

If you need a third, I know that, back in the day, Bard College (on the Hudson river in New York -- beautiful place, very liberal) had good jazz stuff going in. Bill Evans even had residence there for a while.

LOL classic. I don't have suggestions but I'm a bit jealous that you're doing something so cool with you life but more happy for you than jealous

Yeah, I think Bard is the place where the phrase "The bigger the trust fund, the smellier the hippie" must have been coined. Great place, if you don't mind hangin' out with a bunch of rich kids with yarn in their hair.

:D

When I visited, there was a couple who were dressed as vampires, pancake makeup and all. When I asked what the occasion was, I was told that that was just their usual garb.

But that stuff doesn't detract from the fact that it is a good school, educationally.
