maybe superstars are rappers and mcs are more hardcore underground?
i know people are gonna quote 3 mcs and 1 dj,and say rappers and mcs are the same thing but i think there is a difference and i've been into hip hop since 1986.

The Beastie Boys are the best MCs in history to this date and one of the best groups of rappers ever. Whoever started this thread baited everyone so . . . that person has been listening to rap/hip-hop since maybe '96 but judging by their asinine comments they might've been BORN in '86, if even that.

If an MC entertains well Wu-Tang, Fiddy Cent, Crapinem and Nas have some of the worst stage shows ever. Wheras LL, Bboys, Public Enemy, Jurrasic 5, and Run DMC get everyone out of their chairs and shaking their ass. That's a rapper, an MC, that can entertain. I don't go to rap shows to here 50 guys repeating the same thing over and over again. While Nas and Wu-Tang are good, they aren't very good entertainers.

Part of being a rapper that nobody will forget is not record sales or how many times you shot your mom, its about entertaining the people and having fun. I feel sorry for kids today that think people like Fiddy Cent and Crapinem are, you know good because they just start shit and waste their money and talent on selfish means.

Beastie Boys, Furious Five, Chuck D and many other MCs have looked over their shoulder and have helped the world around them and their communities get better. That's a rapper, an MC; someone who helps the world, not try and start shit.
