You know... that was difficult trying to remember all those things for you. That was all over the span of one full week. It's a good thing the NSA keeps track of all this stuff for us.
Whew! Thanks, NSA. (http://www.csicop.org/pics/alien/thumbs-up.jpg) (y) :D (y)

childhood tale
I was 13 years old, spending a week at a cottage on the french river, up in northern ontario with my mom. There were kayaks at our disposal and all the comforts of being "up north". My mom had just purchased me a brand new Normark pocket knife. It's stainless, surgical, serrated, steel, blade was so, super sharp. I convinced her i was mature enough to be in possession of such a blade and considering we were up north, it was practically a necessity.
The 3rd night there, i decided I needed to have a fire. Mom wouldn't allow it so instead I decided i'd have a smaller version of a campfire in a now empty corn nibblets can. I was splitting twigs with my Normark to make them fit into that can better.
For a second I considered my twig splitting technique might not be the safest. (I was splitting twigs towards my other hand) Shortly after that discarded safety concern, I split a twig like butter and the knife proceeded to slice 40% of my left thumb wide open.
It spread open like a dictionary laid on its spine. blood gushed out all over the place. I made haste to the kitchen sink to run it under water. My hopes of cold running water instantly washing away traces of my foolishness, swirled down the drain.
My mom refused to drive 2 hrs to the ER and instead opted to slather it in polysporin (http://www.communitynews.ca/files/releases/polysporinc.jpg)and wrap it up so tight, it pulsated as if it had it's own heartbeat.
A few days later we ventured into the city to spend some time at the Science Center North (http://sciencenorth.on.ca/enterprises/where/SN.jpg), the Big Nickel Mine (http://www.science.uwaterloo.ca/research/ggr/MineWasteGeochemistry/INCO_CC/INCO_BigNickel.jpg)and eventually an Emergency Room. By now my thumb had developed a particular, noticeable odour that could be detected within 3-4 feet. It smelt like... infection or something similar.
The on-duty ER doctor unwrapped the bandage, pulled the almost healed wound apart and dumped a bunch of hydrogen-peroxide or equivalent on it. It pussed and spit out its infectionous ooze. The doc said it shouldah, couldah required stitches, but that the moment had past and to just keep it clean and slathered with polysporin (http://www.communitynews.ca/files/releases/polysporinc.jpg).
