View Full Version : Little Yeti
Hello my BBMB friends,
Aiden Lessley Boyd was born in Northwest Texas Hospital at 10:21 am Thursday (8/17/06). He is 6 pounds 11 & a 1/2 ounces and 20 and 1/4 inches in length. He is very thin with long fingers and large feet. He was a true fighter thus the name Aiden (Irish/Scottish-Fiery).
Aiden arrived via an emergency c-section. My wife's water broke and her contractions began around 7am. Everything appeared to be going very smooth until some nurses rushed into the room. Aiden's heartbeat was very very low and sporadic. More nurses and our Doctor entered the room with very worried looks on their faces. Doctor Eades very calmly told my wife, Krista, that the baby wanted to come out NOW. She was rushed into the operating room. Medicine was given to stop her contractions and the baby's heartbeat rebounded. The c-section was performed and he let out the typical--"it is cold and too bright" cry. They found his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck twice and a knot was found in a section of his cord.
Thankfully Krista was being monitored and we were not at home.
We are blessed to have Aiden in our lives and feel very lucky that he is healthy. This morning the doctor told us that he has only seen 2 knots in an umbilical cord like Aiden's and the results were very bad.
I am spending the nights at the hospital and will not be home until Sunday. I just wanted to let everyone know that I have a little boy. Thanks for the name help but in the end my wife named him and I just agreed. Although I wanted Aidan she choose Aiden with an e. I didn't really care at that point if she named him Mudd. Well, I better get back to the hospital. Thanks for all your good thoughts and suggestions.
PS-Turd, you would love to change his diapers. I got green slimey shit all over my hand this morning.

Gratulations, Familias Yeti!(y)
Thanks guys.....I did not get to see the c-section. It was a very dangerous time and I think they did not want me to watch. I had to sit outside the door (it was opened and I could see and hear some things). I was a wreck since he could have really had some major complications. Apparently his umbilical cord was really long and he was playing with it in the womb. The knot was the real concern.
Dr Deaf--I am drinking Harp, Red Stripe and Tecate. I have had a Shiner Bock at a bar. No Lonestar yet but I am sure I will have one soon. Texas is all good. I like the town of Amarillo and our home. I do wish we had some rivers, lakes, mountains or beaches. We have roadrunners and the high plains.

Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad.
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.
Always remember to forget
The troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

Awesome news!
Get lots of sleep while the mrs. is in the hospital. When she gets home with the baby, you'll be getting little if any. They both need you.
