I literally throw all my cd's in a box together, with nothing protecting them from each other. The skips make some lovely remixes though.

i did that too for a while till i had enough empty cd-r spools
you should get one of those crank operated cd buffers that buff out the scratches. they are only like 10 bucks

I had no idea something like that exists...I will have to get one since I'm sick of remaking my mixes after they've been in my cd hell box for a few months.

those things are pretty bad for the discs in my experience.
i never throw out cases or album art. even when i move. if i paid for the album, damnit, i want everything that comes with it.

i'm one of those people that reads every word in the booklet. production notes and all that.

Ugh. I never understand why this happens.
Do people throw away the cases to all their vinyl records, too?

well you take the cd out of the case and put it on the spool. not hard.
question: how do you find your cds when they are all stacked in a spool?
i like to browse through my collection (visually) to decide what to listen to. i like my music to be tangible.

Exactly. I keep all my cases and artwork in a box, in the closet. The CD's I keep in a couple large binders. The binders get expensive though, the bigger they come.

What? Why the fuck would you do that? You keep them on spools? Wouldn't that make finding a cd way more difficult than it has to be? Wouldn't that scratch the balls out of them after a while? You throw away the artwork? What are you, some kind of massive retard?

My mate does this as well but I can't understand why - I love looking at the artwork and it's handy when I can't think of the name of a guest vocalist/musician and need to check quickly cos those types of questions bug the shit out of me

having a surround sound system hooked up to my pc and owning a mp3 player has eliminated the need for cd's. so i buy a cd and immediatly rip it to my hard drive and then my mp3 player. no need for artwork. if i wanted artwork i'd buy a painting. and keeping the cd on spools takes up a lot less space.
seems pretty damn logical to me
