Intelligence can be a huge turn on. But then some women are conscious of this, and will one-up at any turn. I don't know what I'm trying to say.

intellegence is a big turn on. i cant find a total bimbo attractive no matter how hot they are. i think i'm a bit of an intellectual snob. But i couldn't go out with a girl that's better than me at maths :p

I think she means the girls that can outsmart you, not just the ones that are intelligent. I mean, wouldn't that be a little intimidating?

ScarySquirrel

I like women when they're smart... but if they're, like, totally eight billion light-years ahead of me on the intelligence scale, it won't work out. Usually I like my women around the same intelligence level as me with a little grace period on either side of the scale.

Oddly enough a lot of the girls I've been around are math fucking bosses. I'm not a fan of the ol' methematics and I get a little jealous. Not mad jealous or anything. Usually I have a talent that they wish they had too so it evens out.

they tended to give awesome head too

She also told me that if you play with fire you'll be a bedwetter. ;)

Strangely I actually know a couple whom this caused their relationship to fizzle.

Her husband was always seen as a bit of a turd by my family...but apparently it got to the point where she would have to alter her W-4 kept in house to make it look like she made less than he did...when in reality she makes a ton of money with her small business.

Then, in turn, he would use her reported "meager salary" as proof that she needs to stop focusing on a "failed business" and focus on him and her kids. I have no doubts she makes at least a few hundred thousand a year but her husband has just decided to see it how he wants to I guess.

He works for the city street crew, she is a licensed physical therapist with a very well known business in north MN.

Not in the least. I wouldn't date, much less marry, a girl who couldn't bowl me over intellectually. Unfortunately I've often found that the most intelligent, creative, and talented women I know are deeply attached to worthless, douchebag, shithead boyfriends completely incapable of appreciating them. What's the deal with that anyway?

I have a very strong interest with a girl who has a great brain and a very nice body =)

I like women with ambition, creativity, and are usually more grounded in their emotions than I

Because if a boy is constantly available, there is no challenge. Boys who are wild and need to be tamed are intriguing. Or something.

I was like that back in high school, I fell for a guy who wouldn't talk to me when he was around his wrestling buddies, because I was a freshman (so was he, but it was a given that all wrestlers were supposed to date "up" meaning older, more experienced senior girls or college women). He was my best friend... but only when it was convenient. All other times he'd ditch me for drinking with his friends.

Then I decided to get some goddamn self-esteem and realized he wasn't worth it and told myself I'd never fall for a guy who didn't appreciate me and treat me how I should be treated. The girls who still hang around those douchebag jerk-ass boyfriends are the ones who have no idea that they can get a mature boyfriend who will treat them right. Either that, or they just have some growing up to do. Or maybe both. Maybe it's a mixture of low self-esteem and immaturity.

I'd like to answer, as well.

I like it as long as they don't try to impress you with it. I find it attractive when someone just happens to be intelligent, in a subtle way, and reserves it a little. Not girls that flaunt their intelligence. I like witty, but not too witty where it's just bordering on obnoxious.

Like, you know how it's cool when someone knows how to fight, but they don't just walk around trying to kick everybody's ass to prove it? But when push comes to shove they can slap the shit out of you. It's the same sort of thing with intelligence for me.

mickill
08-21-2006, 03:35 PM
Well, I wasn't trying to turn you on, man.

Ha! Get it? WITTY OR WHAT!!

skra75

really depends on the person and the situation. also depends on the guy - lots of guys like bubbly, dumb girls. I don't get it and probably never will.

smart girls are a turn on only if they are good looking to begin with.
speaking for me:

1) if the girl has a quick sense of humor, it's a turn on. if she can very quickly bust my ass verbally, without much effort - it's good.

2) if the girl goes on and on about something I don't know anything about or don't care about (for example, Dick Cheney's personal life or career with Halliburton) I lose interest and my brain starts going elsewhere. This also works for nerd hobbies, such as Broadway Stage Acting, no bro.

3) if the girl shows some "academic challenge", "code-writing", or "jeopardy" style knowledge (like if she knows the Periodic Table of Elements, for example) this is a slam-dunk, and I'll go out of my way for her.

TURN ON!!! Definitely. One thing I can't stand is a dizzy chick (or a Dixie Chick, for that matter!:D :D)

But it varies on the guy. I have a friend who likes his women as dumb as a box of rocks, so.....

Waus

I'm definitly a lot more attracted to girls that are quick. If a girl can't keep up with the jokes or understand intertextual jokes on pop culture I just get frustrated.

Plus I like a girl who can pwn me verbally without resorting to stupid bitchisms.
