NEW YORK (Aug. 20) - Rapper Busta Rhymes has been arrested and charged with assault, police said Sunday.

Few details about the arrest and the attack that prompted it were immediately available, although police Officer Martin Speechley said they occurred about a week apart.

Representatives of the rapper, whose legal name is Trevor Smith, could not immediately be reached for comment. Messages left for Violator Management and for a lawyer who once represented him were not immediately returned.

Police have been wanting to interview Rhymes since the February shooting death of one of his bodyguards, Israel Ramirez.

Ramirez, 29, was killed outside a Brooklyn studio where Rhymes was recording a music video.

The rapper and another bodyguard were sued the following month by a fan who says the two men beat him after he asked for the Rhymes' autograph.

I just picked up Extinction Level Event. Some good tracks on there. Still undecided if it's better than When Disaster Strikes, though.

every busta rhymes album ever made has a max of 5 good tracks, with the rest being filler.



and why was everyone so excited about Eminem appearing on the Touch It remix on BET? He just mumbled some incoherent shit.

That might be true for "E.L.E" and "When Disasters Strike", but Bustas new album seems to have more excellent tracks than 5. U gotta have it!!!

Consider any album that has been released in the last couple of month,is there at least one that has 5 bomb tracks, I canīt think of one, you?

And Eminems appearance at the BET awards was ok, nothing special but hopefully a starter for an upcoming album + tour, cause I havenīt had the chance to see him performing live.

But it seems to be the new attitude of rap artists: drop your " last album", say u will never return,start with a couple of feature tracks and 1-2 years later return to the game!
Example: Jay-Z has a gig in Mannheim, Germany on September 16th., hasnīt he already retired?
My chance to finally see him in action, Iīm looking foward to!
