(!) (!) (!)
so did you know that sometimes blisters can be really, really bad? I didn't know that. So ignored some I had (with good reason, taking care of small children crying/screaming their heads off) and now they have reached open wound status.
Wow they hurt. I am limping. I've been sitting or lying down all day because they hurt so bad. I could barely shower because the water streaming over them made me want to cry.
wtf?

i've had blisters that bad so many times i think i've added on a half a shoe size with hardened skin.
dr scholls blister care is good. has a nice gelled bandage type thing with medicine, and it stays put.

What was really terrible is when I was late to work so I had to walk very fast in new heels, so I ended up developing these water blisters in the middle of my feet - just where my upper foot met my shoe, above the arch. So whenever I walked, it was DIRECTLY on the blisters. And I wasn't about to take my shoes off and walk in the street, so I just had to keep walking on the blisters. Then as I was walking home, I slipped a little inside my shoes and realized that they had burst and I now had water liquid crap in my heels.
GROSS.
You can still see the scars, too.

you have to be careful with those! last year my friend wore some new sandals to lollapalooza and got a bunch of blisters and cuts from walking around all day and they got infected and she got really sick and had to go on antibiotics.
one time I got terrible blisters from jumping barefoot on a pogoball for too long. 4-5 on the arch of both feet. it was 3rd grade, and I was in a band playing a cardboard guitar, my gimmick was jumping on a pogoball during the entire performance. TOTALLY AWESOME!

Blisters aren't fun. I got some new ones a couple weeks ago after compensating for a sore knee. Now I've got a big o' callus on one toe. I've cut most of it off, but didn't want to trim too deeply. I'm elderly, and I use my feet a lot.

It's those shoes you wear sweetheart, I saw em - they made me hurt just looking at them. You need to sport some nice comfy Dunks, perhaps a good Huarache, take it easy on yourself for a little while.

Shoes do make the difference. For running/hiking, the right socks and liners do too. Running/hiking in rain/mud without the right socks and liners or without weaing moleskin: blisters.
When I was a kid, I associated back to school with new shoes and new shoes with blisters. I thought new shoes just implied blisters and a sort of mandatory breaking-in period. Then when I got older and bought my first pair of good shoes, I realized that quality shoes [usually] do not cause blisters and it was a revelation and then I was pissed for all of those blister-filled Septembers.

As a cross country runner I've had my share of blisters. Hope that you never get double blisters. One time I had two on top of eachother. Don't know how that happened but it hurt like no other.

the shoes that caused them were completely flat grandma like shoes. No joke. The high stiletto like heels never cause blisters for me. Go figure.

that's where I'm at right now! YAY! They stayed open and wouldn't scab. I did my best to keep them clean and out of harms way but alas.
