I won't drink milk unless it's chocolate milk, with cereal, or cookies. Especially oreos. Yeah yeah I know!

i have semi-skimmed milk. what's this 1&2% nonsense? crazy americans!

i have a very bad habit of drinking it straight outta the carton/bottle though, which i know is disgusting but i'm not dirty. much. i drank a lot more when i lived at home because mother's inherently and frequently buy lots of milk. not so when you move to a student flat. every drop is precious! for tea, mostly.

Yeah but having a lot of milk/dairy also apparently has its downfalls (growth hormones, etc).

I used to hate skim milk but I can deal with it now...

The other day we were out of milk and my mom had me get her a bowl of cereal using this chocolate protein power mixed with water instead of milk. BARF.

P.S. there should be a soy option.

i know. last time i was in new york it took about 3 different people to try and work out what i was asking for when i said "semi-skimmed milk please".

1 and 2% is the level of FAT in the milk. i think 2% is like semi-skimmed here.

i love milk.

Why on Earth would you drink milk when you have heartburn? That's about the worst thing you can do.

Ahem:
Contrary to popular belief, milk is not a recommended antidote to heartburn. A glass of milk does provide immediate relief as it goes down, but milk contains calcium and protein, and these eventually stimulate even more acid production in the stomach. This can cause a more severe heartburn that can return in as little as a half an hour.

Drinking milk could be a quick fix to heartburn. Unfortunately, milk has a rebound action and would eventually encourage secretion of more stomach acid, which causes the reflux.
from healthcastle.com
or:
Don't make your problem worse with bad advice. You might have heard that some things, like milk or mints, are good for heartburn. Make sure the guy who gave you this advice doesn't try to sell you a bridge somewhere. What's wrong with milk and mints? Mints are one of several foods that tend to relax your lower esophageal sphincter, or LES, the little valve whose job it is to keep acid in your stomach—and the little lid that can often protect you even when you do overindulge.

And what's wrong with milk? It's this: Fats, proteins, and calcium in milk can stimulate the stomach to secrete acid. "Some people recommend milk for heartburn—but there's a problem with it," says Dr. Klein. "It feels good going down, but it does stimulate acid secretion in the stomach."

In other words, what you think is helping you, is actually making the situation worse.

when I was younger I was staying at my grandma's and she ran out of milk and gave me half & half to put in my cereal. It was so nasty....almost like whole milk.

I drink skim.

if it is whole milk shouldn't it be 100%?

just sayin'

recipe for the best smoothie you will ever try:

6 or 7 frozen strawberries
a handful of frozen blueberries
One whole banana (frozen and chopped is preferred)
a cup and a half of organic skim milk
a big heaping spoonful of peanut butter

blend that shit and enjoy....
