oops. I didn't receive the email memo that today we were supposed to dress business casual because the tutoring center is being evaluated! omg! so embarassing!

I don't care. I knew the big wigs were there, and that everyone seemed to be dressed up, but I was like, "meh, I didn't get no memo or nothing, so it ain't ma faults". then when I was leaving, the owner whispered to me, "did you get the email about business casual today?" and I said, "nope, sorry...I'm not sure what address you have anyway", because it would literally the very first and only email they've ever sent out. stupid jerks.

anyway, I think it's dumb that we have to dress up. the kids get mad when I've dressed up in the past. one time I came in wearing a smart corduroy vest and matching skirt and the teenage boys were like, "NOOO, YOU'RE ONE OF THEM! WHERE ARE YOUR JEANS!!? YOU LOOK LIKE AN ADULT, I HATE YOU!"

pfft. anyway, i have to go back in a bit, so I'm ironing some dress pants.

okay, so the pants I ironed I haven't worn in a few months and they're too big and they look stupid.

I forgot to say that ordinarily, I'd be mortified about making a mistake or being different or somehow ruining something at work, but I don't care. and that's pretty cool. unless I get fired. but seriously, compared to some of the other teachers, I always dress neatly. some come in in there work out clothes for pete's sake.

just don't wear flip flops. don't get me wrong, i loves me my feet thongs, but people's casualness with flip flops has gotten outta control.

I did wear flip flops and I'm going to wear them again! they're nicer ones though. :( I paid $18 for them! (unwillingly, I "needed" black shoes for my hair modelling stint in vegas and my mom made me get them rather than wear my shiny gold ballet shoes).

See, this is what annoys me about these stories of yours. You never once mentioned where you work. I dunno, do you expect everyone to have followed every detail of your life to date when you post these things?

No offence, I just wish you'd be more obvious with your stories. Not like "HEY GUYS I WORK AT THIS SKATE STORE WITH KIDS AND THEY MADE ME DRESS SMART AND THEY WERE LIKE HEY YOU LOOK GAY LOL", but I mean work with the uninitiated a little more.

sorry, I work at two places and I forget to tell people in real life which job I'm talking about too. I'm a story-telling jerk. I work at a frame shop and a tutoring center where I mainly teach math to high school boys. this casual dress thing happened at the tutoring place.

anyway, I went back there today and the big wigs were gone along with the owner. the director came up to me and apologized about what the owner said, ha. she said, "I can't believe she said something to you about what you were wearing! I'm so sorry, don't worry about it, you're a great teacher and that's all the matters." bizzzang! then the office lady said something about it too, and apologized. pretty funny. especially since I was feeling like I did a shitty job teaching today because I almost got into a fight with a kid about converting km to miles. stink metric.

i don't understand why places make you dress so nicely for work. i mean, just because i'm not wearing pants and slacks doesnt mean i am not looking presentable
