Hey kids. Many of you might remember a month or so ago I posted about the not so great stuff that's going down in my family. Well I've kept kind of quiet about it since as I didn't want to lumber y'all with the more depressing minutae of my life, but I wanted to just mention, if you don't see me around for a while, it's because tomorrow morning the baby and I are getting on a plane and heading off to stay with my family for a while while we sort some of this shit out, and while my mom has her chemo. My goals are to help her be well enough to make it to my sister's wedding in California at the end of October, to help my other sister get sorted with the sort of assisted living situation she really needs, and to work out what will be the best environment for my nephew to be in for the next few years so that he can grow up to function as an independent young adult.

Anyway, my life's gonna get a bit full-on real quick, and I don't know what kind of net access I'll have, or how much time I'll have, and to be honest even if I have a good bit of both I really need to focus on dealing with this other stuff right now. So I think I'll really not be checking in here often if at all after tonight, probably until I come back to London in November.

One up side is that autumn should be a wonderful time to be in Chicago. I hope you have some time to look out a window or two to see some gorgeous colors and see and feel some sunshine.

When they are about an hour away from closing and you're stuck in a north suburb waiting on a train that runs whenever the hell it feels like it. By the time I get to the Belmont stop, walk over to Clark and down to the bar there would be about twenty minutes left before close.
