I was very careful about alcohol until I turned 19, then I became a drunken bum, who nearly got a free trip to rehab (where they had playstations! Fuck!). So generally, there is no general rule about responsible drinking. You'll go through a phase (no matter how fleeting) where you tempt yourself into having a problem, but I don't think this is it.
