Roadside Prophets will be released on dvd October 10, 2006 in a widescreen region 1 format. Of course this movie features a person that we all know and love, Mr Adam Horovitz.

That will be interesting to check out. I haven't watched it in ages. I always intended to go back and see if any of the incidental music in the background (supplied as I recall by the Beastie Boys) in the bar scene was worth the effort of transfering to audio disc. I have it on VHS somewhere in storage and never got around to pulling it out and doing the transfer.

Wow, I wasn't aware of that. I'll have to dig out my DVD and have a listen this weekend.

Yeah, the movie poster says: featuring music by several artists and the Beastie Boys are one of 'em; yet they did not contribute a song to the official Roadside Prophets soundtrack. I was always a bit frustrated by that inconsistency; but resolved it when I (now this is a faint memory) I heard a variation of either In 3s or POW being played towards the start of the movie when John Doe is in the bar.

I have a "work print" copy of the Mel Gibson movie Payback which is slightly different than the actual released version and as I recall there is a Beastie Boys instrumental in that version of the film. Unlike the song in Roadside Prophets, this was the run of the mill LP version. I can't recall what the song was offhand though...

I believe "POW" was playing during the bar scene.

Did Tougher Than Leather ever get a DVD release? I downloaded a copy from the hub which I assumed was ripped from a DVD (as the quality looks too good to be from a VHS transfer). But I can't find any info anywhere on the net regarding a DVD version.

i actually tried to write something like that, because i wanted to see what it would be like if tim doolan and sam ever met each other :p

i dunno it seemed interesting to me. maybe i'll try that again...
