Paul was one hell of an amazing bass player for his time, those are great choices, I like his work on Sgt. Pepper, especially Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and Mr. Kite. Sort of a Keith Moon on bass approach. He was in the same song, just had a different beat.
Fucking Stoner

Yeah, Come Together and Dear Prudence are further evidence of his originality/skill as a bass player. I think he sort of popularized melodic bass playing.

A Message From The Meters - The Meters
basically throw a dart at a list of Meters tracks and you've got a great bassline.
I think I made a thread a while back about how despite Paul Mcartney being a pussy, he was a great bass player. I always think of Old Brown Shoe when I think of his bass work. he just gets such a great sound.

but dude, disco was the thing back then. I'll give you Trick Bag wasn't the best meters album but it was still good, plus the cover was top notch. Maybe you should put their decline down to touring with the stones :D
i'll also add entrow by grahma central station to this list, well anything that larry graham played on basically

Here's 4 of my favorite & somewhat obscure bass riffs:
"Little Green Bag"- the George Baker selection (opening track on the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack)
"Big Shot"- the English Beat (the last 20 seconds of the song where the guitar drops out & you just hear the bass riff is great)
"Bandages"- Crackerbash (watch the Seattle documentary Hype! and it's the first thing you hear. A cool little bass riff in Drop D)
"Buena"- Morphine (Mark Sandman created a lot of cool bass riffs with his 2-string slide bass. This is probably my favorite)
