I didn't click that link, but I'm assuming that it's one of these info sites--a place where you can search for a person by name or s/n and find more info about them.

This stuff is only going to escalate as technology and demand, and our dependence on those things evolve rapidly over the coming, say, 5-15 years.

I stay as private as I can when I'm online. I figure that if sites like that want to try to put stuff up about me, they should work for it. I'm not going to give them info about me by posting photos and divulging much else voluntarily.

One more thing: a friend of mine suggested that by visiting sites like that (to check the accuracy of the profile that they have for you) you are probably giving them a tiny bit more information about you.

I have stupidly clicked these links before (and still do, when will I learn?), and was glad to see that this time was an ape, and not an old dear with her knockers out.Is this one of those sites that looks legit and asks for some personal info (first name, last name, year of birth, city/state) and then sends you a joke photo? :rolleyes: Those sites are collecting all of that info that you provide, be sure of it. The joke photo is there to get you to forward the site to friends. My dad sent me a pointer to a site like that a few months ago probably after having typed in everything he knew about me. :)
