a toy lorry?
Nope, a Sainsbury's HGV lorry that's 'making life better'.
Asda is crap! Never has what i want
I think it's worse since Walmart bought it.

asda is not crap! it's my fave. they do the most delicious 'extra special' french onion soup, and a fantastic three bean pasta bake. although about a year ago it was one of the products which was recalled because it had, uh, traces of that cancer causing drug. but loads of readymeals and sauces did.. everywhere. hold up, what's that lump?
i only do 'big shops' when my boyfriend is in down and he has the car. big shops mostly involve us going out to asda (a trip in itself!) and buying packets and packets of wholewheat pasta, pesto, and aforementioned three bean bake. it's great! super cheap.
for day to day shopping - odd block of cheese, salad, cereal etc on the way home we have a somerfield. bleh. most expensive somerfield in scotland! (because it's in the west end).

Sainsburys has the nicest food...tesco the best adverts and asda the worse service.
What about morrisons. They are the TRUE evil.
na§tee
08-31-2006, 04:44 AM
well, of course sainsbury's has the nicest food but i cannae afford to shell out for their jamie oliver premium-priced shit. i will only go there if i am super lazy and getting a ready meal or pizza.
our somerfield used to be morrisons (they took it over), and yes, morrisons was super crap. so.. yellow.
does anyone remember presto? on lewis we had a big presto, and now we have a big co-op. a co-op! i never see co-op superstores on 'the mainland'.

Is adsa that german one? Or is that like aldi or something?
I wish we had that one 'cause I'm sick of woolies and I got banned from coles.

Stealing kinder surprises. (n):(
I can apply for them to let me back in, but they can go fuck themselves.

stealing kinder surprises! haha! that has to be the best reason for being banned from any establishment, ever. it's almost sweet.

we have an aldi up here, i've never been there but i've heard it's the most bland boring place to go. the aisles make you depressed

Aldi is French, Lidl is German, Waitrose has the best food but you'll be needing that re-mortgage before you go in, and Morrisons is just horrible.
Horrible. They ate Safeway, which might not have been such a bad thing.
'Safewaaaaaay, everything you want form a store and little bit more-or-or-oooooooor'
And yep, I remember Prestos, and also when Somerfield was Gateway.
Nothing is sacred.

All those stores suck. The only one I'm curious about is Tesco though... is there anything they DON'T sell? Seriously?

ASDA has gone downhill to the point where I actually get disgusted by the 'fresh' produce. Pity all I had at Uni was an ASDA, but hey it's cheap.
The hypermarket ASDA in Wigan is fantastic though (y)

did you know that nationally, £1 in every £8 of uk retail sales is spent in tesco? that's fucking massive, man.
i remember when i first went to the 24 hour tesco in inverness. admittedly there's not much to do up north, but i swear when i'm up there i must spend make up about 10% of that figure up there the amount of times we're in there. looking at cds. looking at clothes. buying cooked sausages. buying alcohol. filling up the car.
it's crazy!

I suppose at least Tesco don't make you stick a £1 coin in the trolley for the honour of using it.
I also appear to be typing this whilst my arse is housed in a pair of Cherokee yoga pant things.
Sainsbury's is backward as fuck. You wouldn't believe some of the in store policies they used to run.
I dislocated the backshift supervisors shoulder when i worked there. Rawfl.
