I never posted in a David Bowie thread because my favourite song of his is 'Let's Dance', which I imagine just doesn't wash. It's got the sick beat. And the video always made me want to go to Australia when I was a child.

I like Bowie alot more than MJ to be honest. So many great pop songs and alot of great rock songs, and some weird experimental ones too.

that and Modern Love are my 2 favourites.(and i've heard all of his albums frequently)
and billie jean is the only michael jackson song i actually like...and i like it a lot.

Quincy Jones rules it on Off The Wall and Thriller. there's about 19 perfect pop songs on those albums. in terms of singles, I actually prefer Rock With You for some reason. anyway Thriller selling 40 million is insane.

Is the talking point about the title, and how MJ's record company wanted to change the name from 'Billie Jean' to 'not my son' because people might get it confused with some black, lesbian, tennis player?

The Police, though, beat out Jackson in one category: "Every Breath You Take" won the Grammy for Song Of The Year, beating Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" in that category.
