That's because they were underappreciated initially and now everyone falls over themselves to praise them after the fact. It's just like with the Ramones, only this time none of the Pixies are dead.

Sufer Rosa is by far their best album. Anyone who thinks Doolittle is a better album than Surfer Rosa is a bitch. Doolittle might be a better place to start than Surfer Rosa, though.

The band that really got me into indie rock !! Hard to tell which album I prefer, it all depends on the mood of the moment. Bossanova is probably their most underrated album, don't know why but it has such really great tunes like "Hang Wire", "Blown Away", "The Happening", "Ana", "All Over The World"....(y)

Me neither. I've listened to a good most of their stuff...it's not bad, but what makes it so awesome?

For me it's because their music still sounds fresh today even though it was recorded 20 years ago. It ain't dated one bit (y)

I won a free ticket to the Hultsfred festival 2004 through Swedish radio cause I said I would like to review them and compare them now vs back in the day and they were totally awesome! Got my few minutes on the radio as well...
