I was bummed when I read about it at 3 AM yesterday. He just seemed so impassioned. I appreciate enthusiasm for living.

my good friend just sent me this.

my friend: "now this is exactly why i think i prefer animals to people... they don't kill or attack out of vindication or spite, only out of necessity or self-defense. this is just sad and mildly nauseating."

At least ten stingrays have been found dead and mutilated on Australias eastern coast in the last week in what conservationists believe could be revenge attacks for the death of Steve Irwin, the popular naturalist and television personality.

The dead stingrays have been discovered on two beaches in Queensland state, where Mr Irwin lived and ran his popular wildlife park, Australia Zoo. Two of the unfortunate rays, discovered today, were retrieved with their tails lopped off, according to local fishery officials.

"Stingrays are beautiful creatures and play an important role for the environment. I hope everyone understands we have to protect wildlife now more than ever. This is what Steve was all about."

I'm not that sad really. He was always doing dangerous things and was bound to die via animal someday anyway. And what's a cooler way to die than a stingray spike right to the heart?

I suppose it seems as if he wasn't a real person, just a character, I know he had a family, but they seemed like characters too. The other day on Extra or something, they were showing an old interview and him and his wife just seemed like actors playing husband and wife. and he was putting his baby on a snake, letting the baby touch crocodiles. nuts.

My big bro actually took this news pretty hard. We heard about it like when we first got to LA and for the next few days he would randomly be like "Damn I can't believe Steve Irwin is dead..."

See, I've been saying all along that those terrorists wouldn't use airplanes again, they would find a way that we'd never expect. Stingrays...FIENDISH!

you play with fire you're going to get burnt.
wild animals can't be tamed crocodile hunter or not.
but still i have a hell of a lot more respect for him since he died than i had for him when he was alive i thought he was just exploiting the animals for his own selfish purposes but he did actually care putting a lot of his money into his animal/environment fund and all that - he didn't have to do that he still would have been popular - at least in america.
but he did anyways cause he was actually a genuine guy who cared about the animals
even if he was permanently manic or adhd or something.
