nicotine, you worthless bitch. I love you and I hate you.
Hey, I am off the devil sticks for almost 3 weeks. Damn, sometimes I could just go get a pack of Marlboro Reds and smoke them until I faint from dizziness. The gum takes my cravings away so I'm still hangin'.

I sort of started recently. :(
I know I know, I'm an idiot, But I was feeling rather fucked up recently and I felt that it relaxed me in a way. And I only smoke 1 in the evening, when I'm chillin' on my huge fatboy pillow, so noone even knows about it, except you lot.

you are a grossie josie!
I am over a month now. No more Marlboro Reds. I find that the nicotine gum works for me. It makes me light headed and sick to the stomach like real cigarette smoking.

i hop on and off the smoke train daily. i love the thrill of telling everyone close to me that i've quit only to light up the next day. sometimes even an hour later depending on how much i really cared about quitting in the first place.
When I talk to people about quitting smoking I wonder...................
(lb) If I was in front of a firing squad and they offered me a last cigarette would I say-----no I quit:confused:

I smoke cigars. they are gross, yes, but somehow it seems more like an event, where, cigarettes seems like jacking off. I haven't jumped there yet. Plus, I don't like to inhale that crap into my lungs.

Haven't smoked since Friday. Spent the past 2 days in the hospital getting various lung treatments since my breathing was being compared to a panting dog.
So yeah...I'm done with that shit. I wish I could have enjoyed that last cigarette knowing it was my last cigarette though.

You've quit, too? I had no idea.
Okay.....hold up....
DON'T DO IT YOU STUPID HEAD! I SWEAR I WILL GROW IMAGINARY WINGS AND FLY OVER TO YOUR IMAGINARY HOUSE AND SQUEEZE YOUR IMAGINARY LUNGS UNTIL THOSE UGLY FUCKERS FLOP OUT ONTO YOUR FLOOR. THEN I'LL STICK YOUR NOSE IN THEM AS IF YOU WERE A DOG!
AND STOP DRINKING SO MUCH COFFEE! THAT SHIT MAKES YOU WANT TO SMOKE MORE! HAVE A HOT CUP OF MILK WITH SOME NESTLE QUICK, TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND RELAX!!
Did that help?
I can scream that loud because my lungs are functioning better.
Yup.
And this is probably a dumb question, but have you tried nicotine gum?
That shit is working wonders for me. That and water. When I get a craving, I chug a big ass glass of water.

Hmmm..well let's see....
Rock is having lung treatments and my ticker is working about as well as someone's TWICE my age.
If that doesn't worry you, go to your doctor. Have your lungs checked and get an echocardiogram. If you come out clean, keep smoking until you finally do some damage and hope like hell you find out about it before you croak.

The youngest person I have nursed who had a cancer due to smoking was 26.
He had smoked a lot of weed, which is more carcinogenic than cigarettes.

Both of my Grandparent's deaths were mainly caused by smoking. They both quit, but it was way too late. My Grandma had to sleep with tubes up her nose and an oxygen tank next to her bed.

Yeah, my grandma died due to complications with smoking. I feel bad for the older generations who didn't know of the harmful side effects and can't quit now. There's no good reason to start nowadays, with all the information we know about its harmful effects. Dying slowly and painfully much earlier than expected seems like a bad tradeoff for temporary stress relief.
I asked my smoker friend why she started when she was 18, and she said "It always seemed like something I'd want to do."

has this actually been proved? I've read mixed reports on this for years. Some say yes...some say no. I want something concrete like how everyone agrees that cigarettes definitely can give you cancer.

In a nutshell....er....it's not simple.
As you probably know, weed has 50-70 percent more carcinogenic hydrocarbons than tobacco, and on average, four times as much tar. However, as nicotine and THC both work in different ways on the body, and as it has been suggested that THC can inhibit cancerous growth, it's probably never going to be black and white.
Plus, it all depends on what part of the plant is smoked, as the levels vary. And also, how it is smoked, as if mixed with tobacco, and held in lungs for a longer period, this makes it worse.
There are more and more younger people dying from cancer who smoke, and this could well be a factor, but so could environmental and nutritional factors too.
The best thing is to use a vaporiser, or eat it, or not mix it with tobacco. Although, those who have established cancer links, say it usually effects other parts of the body, and isn't always a lung thing.
I personally think the more obvious health risk with weed is the psycological effects, especially when used by teens. Although, on the other hand, if you have depression and have never used it, it can help:confused: ....so, long time for that definitive answer...
