All I really have to say is hoooooooooooooooooly shit!

I knew this guy was good, but I didn't know he was THAT good. I've been listening to his solo debut ("Curtis") and "Roots" and this stuff is infectious.

Discuss away!

I didn't realize the FULL extent of goodness until now. That's my piece of enlightment. :)

I like how you feel the need to disclose important details like how you were already familiar with his work before, just so nobody thinks that there are any musical artists you aren't already into. Since, you know, you're a human HMV and all.

Curtis is legendary. I'm surprised you didn't already know that. You should go track down a rare Italian import of the Superfly soundtrack too.

I knew he was legendary only through second-hand testimony (i.e. I heard his music being used for that Bran Van 3000 track and selected bits from Superfly before, coupled with reading that he's the bomb), but it's so much different when you finally hear an entire album from start to finish, and that's what I wished to convey.

Don't be like....trying to take the high road with me here, man. This congenial response thing is just sickening, man. Sickening.
