Last night my wife was watching Nip Tuck on basic cable. I was in the other room and I heard the words "Cock" and "Shit" (shit being used multiple times) and I was kind of shocked that it was on basic cable that anyone could watch. So it made me wonder why the censors would allow someone referencing a cock being sucked to be ok on television but not showing a pair of boobies.
If I had kids, I think I would rather them look at a pair of boobies then hearing someone talk about sucking cock. I dunno...maybe its just me.

What say you?

It's one of those shows like NYPD Blue when it first started.

Used curses and mild nudity, just becasue they could.

I find the show mildly entertaining, but the cursing and nudity adds nothing to the show.

And actually takes away from it more times than not.

there really shouldn't be anything offensive about nudity in the first place (unless it's fat/old/ugly people omg BARF), but it's so taboo that it's irresponsible for people to see it at this point because they don't know how to handle it. but it's only forbidden because someone forbade it. i dunno it's annoying.

language and nudity i dunno they're probably about the same

I somethings think i'd perfer the cursing instead of the censorship. it just pisses me off sometimes. Like when your watching Maury and all you hear is *beeeeeeeeeeep* for what seems like 10 minutes, and then when the swearing eventually stops you've missed half the show and have no idea whats going on.
I'd rather hear the swearing then have to miss the prostitute teens!
And it's not like americans are shocked by nudity or swearing or things like that anymore. I bet the statistics now a days for what age people first watch porn/start swearing/smoking/drinking/ect is somewhere around 10 years old.
I guarentee by the time im 70 theres probabley not going to be any censorship at all because this generation is raised on swearing and nudity and all that shit, Were completley numb to everything.
Look at faces of Death, if people can watch that, I dont see why the censorships arnt off the TV yet. People dont understand that kids have such easy access today, like how it takes a 4 digit code to unlock the playboy channels on cable, and how most kid's can walk out of the movie stores with R/NC-17 movies as easily as they can walk out with G movies.
No one cares, and maybe thats the problem.

neither really belongs on regular tv, and usually unneccessary on other television. there are other places for nudity and vulgarity
