just rented "getting up" on Saturday, I need to take it back tomorrow night. I played it at E3 and remembered it being somewhat fun. Although, it seems to be trying awfully hard to be cool.

still, it's 7 bucks down the drain. that's a pack of smokes!

i've never done that, no.

getting up's kind of aggravating at times. it's cool at first, but some of the fights are just obnoxious. the riot cops just love to knock you down with every fucking attack they have. even thing they do knocks you off your feet and it takes forfuckingever to get back up (which is ironic, given the game's name).

if you ask me they should have just directly ripped off prince of persia's controls and added in the spraypaint element. it seems like that's what they wanted to do, anyway.

I bought a few games I've never played. I also rent movies I don't watch.

I plan on having a nice weekend sitting on my ass and then things start to happen and I have no downtime.

i always do that with RPG's. i read about them and i'm all "oh boy this game's going to be great look how great it is" then i rent it, or worse, buy it, and i play it for like a week and lose interest. dragon quest viii is one of those

Xenosaga lolz.

DQ8 is pretty damn simple the first couple of hours. There's no hook until later. The game is for the hardcore old school rpg geeks though, so no surprise there.

yeah i was kinda taken aback by the challenge. i'm not used to dying so often and so soon, you're really forced to level up if you want to get anywhere. games lately have taken a step away from that trend (which i kinda like to be honest, i don't have the patience for levelling these days), so i was suprised.

also xenosaga blows lol

i bought that around when it came out because it was supposed to be like the next coming of jesus or something, but JESUS CHRIST FUCKING CUTSCENES I DONT LIKE YOU JAPAN

something about the gameplay too, i dunno. xenogears was nice though.

So, in an ultimate spin of irony, I tried to play that shit last night, and either the disc was fucked up or my Ps2 was fucked up. So I just looked at some porn instead, it's been a while. That was no good too.

i don't rent games. this may be because of the fact i own a gamecube and no-one even seems to acknowledge its existence any more, gah!

i rented once when zelda: wind waker came out after being persuaded by my boyfriend "oh, you'll really like it! you could, uh, fish in the last one" and goddamn, we kept that game days and days after it was due. we became obsessed: me, my boyfriend, my flatmate. i almost failed all my exams because of it, hah! i had to curb my enthusiasm as it were. my flatmate was sneaking into my room at 5am to steal the GC. we stopped eating. it was crazy.

and we had to keep the rental because the game was sold out practically everywhere! we probably ended up paying the full cost in charges, but meh. we bought it in the end though and i loved it ridonkulously.

I bought Conflict Vietnam a month ago but haven't had time to play it as I'm still playing 'Rivals Mode' on Tiger Woods PGA 06
