I tried to get some feedback from my resident hip hop expert, the Killa, but he is not responding to me.

Is anyone around here into Atmosphere? I had never heard of them/him and I caught a show at Bumbershoot right before Tribe and I thought it was great.

I would now like to buy an album. Someone tell me which is the one to get.

When I saw the title I thought this was about the Joy Division song....

Atmosphere is like the Dashboard Confessional of rap. Slug can go fuck himself.

Yeah, I kinda got the impression that he was kind of emo, not something I'm usually into. I do remember liking it, though.

Is it really emo? Please say it isn't.

Okay, okay. I don't typically like emo stuff, but I liked the show so Imma give it a shot.

Given what I've read I'd go for God loves ugly, but some places said its hard to find.

I'll keep yall posted, I know you're on the edge of your freakin' seat!!!

So what else did you see at the bumbershoot? Did you go all 4 days? I worked all labor day weekend, I would of made Kanye West's show if I could of.

How was it? Did it get too crowded? Give a quick overview, none of my friends went that I know of, we've all gone in previous years and I have many tales to tell, but really how was it this year?

pray tell

It was great, there seemed to be more people but somehow shorter lines for food, bathrooms, etc.

I saw all or part of the following sets (in no particular order)

The English Beat
Sparta
Tribe
Kanye
Atmosphere
Blue Scholars
Steve Miller
(heard, not saw) Blondie
Crystal Skulls
Dengue Fever
Dub Championz
Common Market
The New Pornographers
Nouvelle Vague

Non-music:
Tinkle (comedy show with David Cross and Todd Barry)
Flatstock 10 (rock poster exhibition)
Roller derby (roller derby)

Missed:
Best week ever live
Trapped in the Closet
Feist
Zac Galifianakis

and lots of other stuff, I wish I could have been in three places at once!

Not bad for $50.

Not bad at all for $50. I'll try it again next year, if my schedule allows for it. I always come back feeling better after the bumbershoot, I've already forgotten what I did at work those four days.

I guess that I have bad taste in rap like Heiress.

I like them better live. Last time I saw them, my friend fainted and I had to leave early. :( I thought about seeing them in Vancouver or Seattle because my trip happened to coincide with their shows. I stumbled into them in Australia when they did Big Day Out. So if I'd seen them in Canada, I'd be their number one fan. :)

yeahwho, you are a total yahoo for missing bshoot.

Documad. It appears I disagree with NLOL on other stuff today too. So I feel less inclined to think it bad rap.

But I like the Streets too.

i was into them a while back after Lucy Ford dropped. i saw them live during their tour for seven's travels. i would suggest getting the lucy ford album. i'm not into god loves ugly, overcast, and seven's travels. i've never heard se7en and i thought their last album was cool for two days. it's all kind of difficult to listen to now though.

Breakestra was pretty grrrrrreat
so was Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings.
the Bumberella stage was where the action was at.

tribe did their thing for sure.

The last Atmosphere album is the best one in my opinion.

Whatup decuts?!?

You still in Sea-town? I thought you were making your way back to the east coast. Is that still on the horizon or are you and your adorable puppy staying here in the emerald city for a little while longer?

ello bonjour!

We're still here, had to enjoy the Seattle summer before we go anywhere...no humidity here makes for a great summer. The move dates got pushed out so we should be here for a little while longer. I am looking forward to getting out of Belltown though, its been extra tasty crispy crackhead lately.

How's the 99 treating you?

PM me and we'll tawlk no big whoop
