my old man got me started on beer when i was about 5-6. id have a little vegemite glass of beer with dinner, and when dad wasnt looking id skoll his beer, too. i never got told off. also when i was reeeaaall toddler like and i couldnt sleep dad would rub brandyin my gums, or once i hit about 3 or 4 if i couldnt sleep he'd give me a teeny glass of port. that did the trick. im glad he did it too, cuz once i hit 15-16 i didnt have the curiosity about alcohol and never went out and got really pissed or anything. (except for 1 time, i drank 1 and a half bottles of beam straight in 2 hours, when i was 16, i got alcohol poisoning from that one).

so yeah. i might have a beer now.

my aunt gives her toddlers beer so they won't be curious when they're older...she gave 2/3 of my cousins beer & the other one who she didn't give beer to as a toddler turned out to be a very frequent & heavy drinker

yeah nor did my parents, so my mum is letting my try stuff when im with her, so that she can make sure its a safe amount and that i wont be so curious when im 16-17 and going to parties etc, where there might be alcohol.

depends what kinda family you grow up in. my family was a very alcohol happy family, always had it for dinner and celebrations, and it wasnt out of place at all for the younger kids to drink a bit.
