His position on top of the flag is him trying to metaphorically show his symbolic power, him physically presiding over the country and being on top of things.

Later, he plans to shit on the rug.

who's douchebag idea was it to put the flag on a floor mat anyway? i mean the very idea of what he's standing on is that it's there for him to stand on it. Personally I couldn't care less if he wants to stand on the flag, but if you're gonna get all uppety about it at least blame the people who made it, put it there and then told him to stand on it

ps i hate bush about as much as the next person but seriously

It's just a piece of cloth for fuck sake.

I dont think that mat is made of cloth. It would have blown away. Probably rubber and some strong synthetic fibers.

I mean flags in general.

My dad emailed me this photo today and asked me if it was photoshopped, and how he could find out for sure...because if it IS real, why hasn't it been picked up by the mainstream media? How come no one's making a fuss over him stepping on the American flag when he's so preoccupied with keeping it sacred that he'll agree to a Constitutional amendment?

This really isnt an issue compared to all the other crap that is going on.

that sidewalk is pretty dirty though, hopefully he wiped his feet.

It is weird that they just chose a place on the street to throw the rug down and do a speech or whatever he was doing there.

ok, it's just a rug

but symbolically it's disgusting

I love bush's nationalism...Do as we say, not as we Do.

Granted, but it does show his immense hypocrisy...yet again. And it's going unnoticed.

A true patriot would wince and refuse to step on a floor rug with the flag and a rememberance to 911 on it

but then again...bush stood on the rubble of 911 with thousands of dead underneath with a blowhorn and a cheesy smile on his face
