I just got done watching the show Stroker And Hopp on Cartoon Network Adult Swim. In this episode, Stroker And Hopp were trying to save a boy who was kidnapped by David Copperfield. So, they enlisted the help of the boyband, The 5 Diamonds who were:
Dustin Diamond (Screech from Saved By The Bell)
Neil Diamond
Lou Diamond Phillips
Mike D!
And...a giant talking diamond
Mike D was drawn the way he looks now, but he was wearing a visor the whole time like he used to wear in the Ill Communication era. In one scene, the 5 Diamonds fought Stroker And Hopp, so Mike D did some ass kicking.
In the end, they saved the boy, and did a boyband concert, so it was pretty funny seeing Mike D do these cherographed dance moves with a HUGE smile on his face...then the 5 Diamonds transformed into a monster that looked like something the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers would have fought. Mike D's head formed the right leg of the monster. Stroker And Hopp destroy the monster, killing the talking diamond, but everyone else survives.
It was a pretty weird, but pretty funny episode. I heard a few Beastie Boys references tossed in there (though they never say Mike D's a member of the Beastie Boys), so whoever wrote it must know quite a bit about the band, and might even be a fan. And this is only the second time I've seen Mike D in animated form, so it was a plesant surprise when he first appeared.
Oh, and everyone has a line on the show, except Mike D for some reason.
It's going to be on again at 5 a.m. tonight, and I think they'll repeat it again on Thursday night so check it out because it's a good episode.
