I think that NY State Of Mind is my hands down favorite "hip hop" beat ever. There's plenty of overall better beats in the world, perhaps, but that shit's just the rawest and grittiest. That's pure rap shit right there. Like, if some alien were to descend from the heavens and ask me what hip hop was, I'd play him that beat.
