View Full Version : I want to go back in time to when there were ladies around.

I want to court a girl with flowers and chocolates and romantic dinner dates, and I want to put my coat down over a puddle so she can cross. I want to open the car door and pull out her chair. She wants to go out and get drunk. I've never actually done any of those things, because I think they're viewed as a bit dorky these days and maybe even a little creepy. Or maybe I just don't know what's what

I've often wanted to go back to a time when I had to wear a corset and go to school to learn elocution and embroidery and couldn't vote or stand up for myself. Oppression is so romantic.

Yeah I'm all for oppression. WTF are you doing on the computer anyway? Get back in the kitchen before I smack you black and blue
ps. way to miss the point and turn this into some lame ass feminist thing

yes massa!
So anyway, point of your thread, you want to be all chivalrous and shit but you think the wimmins now a days won't dig it. All I can say is, if it's an act, most women will spot it a mile away. If it's sincere, then it's usually accidental and you won't even realize that you've done anything.
edit: So like I typed all of that and was thinking that I couldn't believe you didn't get pissy about my post which was supposed to be goofy anyway, then I saw your edit.

I was born in the wrong time. I shoulda been a Victorian in a top hat and long coat and whatnot. Before tehnoolgy created alienation and slavery and before Britain had a lilly livereed Govt whose stance on law and order makes Pingu look like the Terminator. Sigh.

Nyeh (that is a word) I can accept that in return for a world without Sharon Osborne, Robbie Williams, chavs and scallies and post industrial alienation. Even if you throw in disease and poverty, I think I still get the better deal.

im a gentleman to everybody. opening doors, letting ppl who look in a hurry cut in line, allllllways say please, thankyou, my pleasure etc, change lanes when a someone in hurry zooms up behind me, or like when im stopped at traffic lights and i can see someone behind me needs to get in the turning lane next to me but my car is slightly blocking it, ill creep forward as far as i can so they can go thru.
what can i say, im a nice guy :D
p.s. what REALLY FUCKS ME OFF tho is when u go out of your way to hold a door open or something for someone, and they just walk thru and make no eye contact and dont even say thanks. no more mr nice guy. i usually yell out 'your welcome, FUCKHEAD.'

Honestly, I mostly don't either. I seem to have a secret beacon that only men who neglect to tell me about their gfs seem to pick up.
Hence the lack of willingness to hand over their number/address and probably their real name...

I havn't been on a phone arranged date in many many years. I had to throw in phone arranged because I went on an internet arranged date recently (and that was just terrible. let's just say the photo lied)
This thread was just a veil for me to whinge about my life behind, anyway

Did I tell you about the big mole she had right in the middle of her chest where the cleavage ended. That was the third thing I saw. And she had like a necklace which kind of pointed to it. And there was hairs growing out of it. And. Yeah you get the idea. Think Austin Powers. I guess it's good that it was out there at the start and not to be discovered later.
ohhhh *shudders*
one of my ex's had terrific boobs; perfect size for her body and almost every guy that went to my school admired them.. and me soon after  but!! she did have one or two or ten small hairs right in between of them. (n)

See this is what I mean. A lady shouldn't allow an entire school to admire her boobs. I dunno. Maybe I'm just getting old. I do have grey hairs, u know :(

^ I deffo agree.
Anyone else think that the importance of life is dubious considering the lack of proof this is real. I mean, this could be the matrix or a bad dream or summat.
I personally yearn for more innocent times before we lived in an atomised society of total bastards.

Some of that's sweet, some cheesy. Opening doors, flowers, chairs, all sweet. Coat in the puddle, not so much. They can walk around the puddle. Unless it's a huge freakin' puddle that's almost a lake, in which case your jacket wouldn't do much anyways.
I try to be feminine but oftentimes just end up being boy-like when I'm not paying attention. Brett was fascinated with the fact that I watch TV with my hand down my pants.

Most women I've known really appreciate a certain level of chivalry. Not full on, 100% creepy chivalry, where they're treated like porcelain dolls in every circumstance -- but genuine, non-patronizing courtesy. (y)

as I'm not much of a lady, I don't really expect to be treated as such...but I do appreciate courtesy.

We went for a walk along the beach and then to the pub for a beer, best of both worlds (y) I think I'm in the "just friends" barrel again, but it was a nice day anyway
