I'll buy it around a month later, so Nintendo can work the kinks out of the first wave of models. I'm uneasy about launch consoles. I'll still buy the warranty, too.
As many suspected, the console will cost $250 in the US, according to the article. Since Nintendo executives have repeatedly said it would be under $250, the likely final price will be $249.99 or $249.95. It will also reportedly have over 25 first- and third-party games available at launch.
I found this funny, since Nintendo confirmed their console would be "under $250" sometime ago, and it ends up being literally that, by a couple cents.
But while many had hoped for a $199 console, the Wii will have something not seen since the SNES--a game packed in at launch. (Note: Several GameCube bundles were offered post-launch.) As rumored, the console will come with the Wii Sports compilation that was shown off at E3 earlier this year. The game comp will allow players to engage in bouts of baseball, bowling, golf, and tennis using the Wii's motion-sensing controller.
This I like.
"Our goal is to bring gaming back to the masses," Nintendo of America president and chief operating officer Reggie Fils-Aime told the Times. "You see that in our pricing, you see that in the number of units we plan to make available this year and you see that in how we are positioning the Wii to appeal to every member of the household, including but not limited to the hardcore gamer."
When you see this guy speak, it's a marvel. He's bizarre.
The Times also re-confirmed that the most anticipated game for the Wii, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, will be available by the end of the year.
YUS.

That's what was reported initially. For the Japan launch, (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3153628) it will be available, but for the North and South American launches, it's in the air. Regardless, all will be revealed later today, when the official announcement is made in the New York City event.
There are two seperate events on the same day. At the moment, the Japan event is underway, announcing everything about their launch, then later on, in NYC, they'll unveil everything about our launch.
I really hope the motion sensor technology isn't half botched and that Red Steel ends up beiong really fun and doesn't suck due to a simplistic aiming method. *crosses fingers*

I wonder when the nerd fag stores will start having their gay ass little reserve your system deals so I can pick up one of these faggy ass things
You can reserve at Gamestop but it'll come in a bundle with Blitz: The League and a copy of Barbie for the NES which will raise the price to $300. Plus tax!
I'm gonna try to cop one in March after the second wave of games hit and my tax return... returns.
