Whats the point, honestly? Who gives a shit?

I like The Who and all, but man do they suffer from an extensive catalogue of "hit and miss" songs.

they're barely a band anymore. not only are they old, but they haven't had a drummer since the 70's and the worms have probably got to Entwistle by now.

The big question is: why?

They should've called it quits when Keith Moon died. Led Zeppelin did that when John Bonham died.

they can call the album 'who gives a rats ass?'. it could have more meaning than one.

The Who are the greatest hard rock band of all time.

Roger Daltry - 62 years old
Pete Townsend - 61 years old

Seats 31st row floor are $225 here in Seattle. The nosebleed seats are $52 each, were talking the last 5 rows in the back.

Fucking healthcare costs must be tremendous for these aging rockers.

I saw them on their "final tour." It was 1983, I think. :)

kenny jones is a good drummer and did his best to replace a legend and phenomenal talent, but i agree, they should have ended with their original farewell tour. the who definitely aren't overrated, but overhyped for sure, ie too hit and miss.

During the Who's 1982 farewell tour the Clash was the opening act. Word has it members of the Clash barely spoke to each or even glanced to each other while on stage and off stage.

The Clash burned White Hot from 1977-1982

The Who have been at it for 42 years (for a few years they burned hotter than all bands) . They've become a corporate branding tool and successful stadium filler.

How many radical Cadillac owners will be at your cities Who show?

The new album (http://testing.universalmotown.com/thewho/eblast/eblast.html) has a song on it with what sounds like a drum machine.

Keith Moon must be rolling over in his grave.

So I'm getting rid of some old books and I find a book called "The Who: The Farewell Tour" in the box. It was published in 1983. :D

I don't begrudge them earning a living from their trade, they could be getting skint these days for all we know, and they probably miss performing.
It just seems sad how a little of the magic is taken away each time a classic band pulls themselves out of hindsight.

daltry and townshend should be pursuing solo careers, not continuing on with the band, seeing as only two original members are left.

personally, i have no qualms with older acts reuniting, as long as they can still play and play well, and, predominantly consist of the original or classic line-up. the cream reunion, and the floyd at live 8 were simply phenomenal.

Daltry's had a great voice, but something tells me he might've enjoyed retiring and becomeing a fitness instructor just as much.

That's not a knock, by the way.

I think these guys all grew up pretty poor and know the value of touring. They have extended families and legacies to fulfill so why not gamble and try to make another cashcow song.

Sycophant's and rich old guys wanting to relive the "Heyday" of cutting edge rock in a relatively tame and familiar enviroment will flock to the arenas. This is the way of the world. And you know what? I bet the show will be good, but not mindblowing like the early Who tours.

The Who invented the Marshall Stack of amps which Cream and Hendrix followed (Pete did this to hear over Moon's drumming) and the group was legandary for breaking apart their equipment. Roger Daltry would pace non-stop, Entwistle stood still and Pete leaped and windmilled through the whole set. Moon on drums must of been mindblowing to see and hear live.

Those days will never be erased no matter what the Who has up it's sleeve for this tour. It would be cool if they sledgehammered a Nissan Maxima during Won't get Fooled Again....thats a whole other topic though.
