this thread is for beastie boys stories, facts, etc. it's basically to post things that aren't really worthy of their own thread.
ohk here goes:
i was on oasis.net's forums, and i opened this picture of bonehead (one of their guitarists back in the day), and i noticed the poster behind him reading "beastie boys", now i wonder if this is another band called the beastie boys or the bboys we know and love.

well seeing as it's the beastie boys logo and a poster of one of their shows with Henry Rollins, on a wall with lots of other gig posters of other bands I think it's fairly safe to say it's the Beastie Boys we know.

Plus, how many people would want the name "Beastie Boys"?
I mean uuhhh...

why would there be any doubt? you wondered if there was another band (that would have been well known enough to tour with the rollins band) that coincidently had the same name?
When Henry Rollins was called to do the tour...do you think he said..."Wait a sec, how do I know this is the REAL Beastie Boys"

nevertheless Oasis were/are fans...I heard CYH was a regualr fixture on their tour bus around the time of it's release.

jeeze calm down people, i think it was only a few months back that we learned that there was another rock band called the beastie boys, obviously a small time band, but still. Anyways i've never even heard of the henry rollins band before, therefore i thought they would be touring with a bigger name at around the 92 era

You betta recognize...If I'm not mistaken...didn't the guys decide to make the band after seeing a Black Flag show?

i doubt that. they are NYC hardcore. how many times do you think Black Flag even made it to NY? probably never, especially with Dez, the original singer. Rolllins didn't join till around when She's On It got released.

You've never heard of Rollins Band? There was not a bigger name than Rollins Band around the 92 era, man. i'm not trying to diss ya, but Henry Rollins is like a legend. Seriously you should get off that oasis site and check out some FUCKING ROLLINS hahahaha

I think that was their reasoning for starting the band....becasue there wasn't much of a NYC hardcore scene at the time.
It was actually mentioned in the Beastieogrphy by Joe Levy from Rolling Stone.

righto, i guess i'm just not old enough to remember them, i started listening to music about 2 or 3 years afterward, so i obviously missed the rollins craze
